Shirley Brown, Kid Creole and the Coconuts

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/bristol/10440371.stm

I would equate "coconut" with being black and aspirational.  It is a backhanded compliment really.  If I were black, I would like those whom I have  left behind in the ghetto, in Labour and the LibDems to call me coconut, if they are disposed to be envious and insulting.

I do hope however that Shirley Brown will appeal against being found guilty of "racially aggravated harassment", which is ridiculous. One single offensive comment cannot constitute harassment.

I have a nasty feeling that whoever in the CPS who approved this prosecution must have been a woman, though I am happy to be corrected if I am wrong.  As we all know, women are more censorious and irrational than men as well as having a poorer grasp of such principles as free speech.  They also find it harder to forgive, being the weaker sex.

As an Asian, I use the term coconut towards Asians who act as if they were "white".
Typical coconuts pronouce their names as not Asians do and give their children western names.

It denotes someone who as turned their back on their cultural identity to suit and fit in.

I do not think it is racist, but people would not like to be calle a coconut as teh truth hurts.

Englsh laws are now a joke.

I have been called all sorts of names and it is water off a duck's back now. These days I just try to fit in with truth, logic and morality and not with particular groups of people.

So yeah.... you’re racist.
Why must an individual uphold a culture of a country in which they do not live. They should be allowed to live in such a way as to make them happy, they should be allowed to adopt the culture of the land in which they live if they so choose.
Yeah I’m asian and yeah you are definitely racist because what you are arguing for is segregationist.

When did I say an individual should uphold the culture of a country they do not reside in?

What do you mean by "uphold" and "segregationist"?

Why God revealed the Torah to Jews of all people
