You could apply the same principle to any controversial vote in your country too though!
I've seen a list of Australian parliamentarians and how they voted on same-sex marriage. Gender is clear in many cases, but not for parliamentarians with doctorates. I think your principle will hold that women disproportionately supported the bill, even though it failed.
