The number of people in England and Wales has gone up by just over 7% in the past ten years and in that time the number of people in Germany has fallen by about 1%, so why should it be so different? Dr Julie Smith, professor of international relations at Cambridge, and economist Dr Ruth Lea debate population and economic growth.
I remember listening to this and thinking it very significant, but cannot find any reference to it anywhere nor remember exactly why I thought this was significant nor can I find a way of listening to it again.
Is there any chance that either or both of you would be so kind as to refresh my memory about what you thought was said?

I discussed the relationship between the working-age population to the ability of the economy to grow. Germany's working-age population is shrinking - ours is not - and this has implications for Germany's and our long-term growth "potentials".

Are you saying more British women should have more children?

More immigration it is then. What with a woman's 'right to choose' and a woman's right to a career, a feminist is hardly likely to argue that British women should have more children.Perish the thought.

The hypocrisy, denial and cowardice of these women - evidenced by their studied refusal to discuss this issue - needs to be exposed and pointed out, again and again and again and again and again and again.

Not only are they failed by their mothers, they are failed by the female-dominated teaching profession.

The long-term national interest is being trashed by these selfish and amoral women who even now are in denial about the damage they have done.

ReplyDeleteThere are none so deaf as those who will not hear. They might get it, if and when they find they've had a bastard grandchild wished on them. But even then, nationalists, who should understand that the nation is simply the bigger family, probably still won't. All the major religions of the world have it right; if you condone immorality, you accept your own destruction.
