Actually Islamist terrorism is the result of their ideology. Any other supposed root causes are the falsehoods they use to disguise that fact.

Islam is an ideology so you may fear Islam the way the English used to hate and fear Catholics after Henry VIII's break from Rome, or the way the West feared Communism during the Cold War or when the British hated and feared the ideas of the French Revolution.
To go back even further, you may hate and fear Islam the way the Athenians hated and feared the Spartans.
What do you propose to do with Muslims who are already citizens of the West?

I would say they have to accept that we are secular societies. If they are unable to handle that then they should be invited to leave.
I would blame MI5 and MI6 as much as anyone. I mean, what is all this crap about requiring permission from the courts before they hack into suspects' online accounts? They are supposed to be SPIES aren't they? Anyone with the remotest connection with terrorism should be monitored constantly.
