The Philosophy of History

Francis Fukuyama was doing eschatology when he wrote The End of History.

Self-loathing is caused by knowing our government doesn't govern in the national interest and constantly lies to us and suppresses the truth from us. When we know our government is corrupt and incompetent as well as suffering from dementia, we feel loss of status as compared to other nations who have leaders who govern in the national interest. When we conclude that we must be degenerate because our government is so corrupt and incompetent, we know we are near the end of our civilisation. This may incite others to commit suicide in a "jump before you are pushed" mindset eg topple statues, break the rules of political discourse. After the matriarchy has destroyed the patriarchy, it will proceed to destroy itself, filled with self-loathing in the way that a woman with a past can sometimes be shamed into killing herself after a fit of remorse if she cannot come to terms with all the mistakes she has made in a string of failed relationships after a life of neurosis and  wanton promiscuity.
