The Great Schism was political, not theological. 

The political reasons for the Great Schism were rooted in the division of the Roman Empire into Western and Eastern halves after the death of Theodosius the Great in 395, which led to the decline of the Western Roman Empire and the continued strength of the Eastern Roman (Byzantine) Empire.

This political separation fostered growing independence in the Western Church, while the Eastern Church remained closely tied to Byzantine imperial structures, creating divergent ecclesiastical and political identities.

The rise of the Holy Roman Empire in the West and the Byzantine Empire in the East intensified political rivalry, particularly over jurisdiction in regions like southern Italy, Dalmatia, and the Balkans, where both powers sought influence.

 Additionally, the Byzantine Empire viewed Rome as a provincial city without imperial power, while Constantinople, as the seat of wealth and authority, claimed ecclesiastical primacy, further fueling tensions over papal supremacy and the balance of power between church and state.

I easily take over conversations because I never beat about the bush and make every word count. But it would not be fair to say I derail the conversation. Luke accuses me of taking over the conversation simply because he does not like what I say. Whatever I do say is related to whatever people have been discussing. If I had  been allowed to speak,  I would have explained the Mystery of the Trinity, but it seems out of all these Christians talking about the Mystery of the Trinity, nobody is really interested and in fact don't want to know.
