I am accused of wanting to take the "woo" out of religion

7:00  and 9:00  It happened at https://www.youtube.com/live/C8_kusqpbQU?si=7WmTUF6CfpY42hp1where you can read my explanation of why SK is for the Westerners who want to solve their political problems and not for Muslims who will want to interpret their Koran in their own way.

Living anywhere not in the West would tend to take away any authority or relevance of my proposed solution attracting comments like "But you don't even live in the West!"

SK is not about where I want to live but a legal solution that would solve the economic, social and political problems of the West.

Jacob is one of those crazy Iranians who want America to bomb their country, and he is also a proud Islamophobe. He does so presumably to reinforce his view that he and his parents did the right thing in leaving Iran. He even admitted that he dropped out of law school because he lacked the ability to be impartial. One of the rules of natural justice is to allow the other side to be heard and not be deliberately misrepresenting their arguments and ideas.

10:00  I know some people need to to warm the engine of their brains up by monologuing before they get to their point, before they "land their plane". But why not just decide whether or not to contribute on the basis of whether one has something relevant to say on the matter?

I noticed years ago when I attended public lectures in prestigious tertiary institutions that during Q&A, the younger people who were supposed to be asking questions just could not ask their question in one sentence and rambled on interminably. Taking the mic away from them would be humiliating, but letting them ramble on was also infuriating.

This is a terrible social and psychological phenomenon attesting to the fragmentation and disintegration of the Western mind!

Luke's guests are just mirroring him as they queue up to take their turn at monologuing after he has done it for an hour! He is encouraging that bad behaviour about thinking aloud, not finishing his sentences or even trying to stick to the topic as his eyes dart around his room like a madman in a mental institution seeking escape from his cell.

YouTube has helpfully given us 100 characters for us to type in what we might like to discuss. If we forget what we were supposed to be talking about, we can always look at the title.

In your case, you are genuinely offering hospitality and conversation. In the case  of Luke, he is just saying "You peasants have to listen to me for an hour before I will let you join my nursery to take turns with your show and tell."

I have attempted to draw out from him what his idea that is something to do with the initiation he is always talking about, but he does not want to define his terms, making me suspect that his idea is rather like a defective infant that he would rather protect from the critical stare of the world. If we really believed our ideas would work, we would be touting it from door to door and welcoming criticisms, questions and comments which is better than non-engagement.

Because his viewers and subscribers are only interested in waiting for Luke to stop talking and for their turn to speak, his big idea - whatever it is - is never  discussed.

10:30  I certainly don't expect people to be correct or agree with me, but they should at least make sense in what they are saying when they disagree or even insult me, and who knows what Luke is trying to say for his hour long monologues? It is clearly a sign of emotional overflow. He obviously needs to be listened to. If no one knows what he is talking about, does it mean we are stupid because we can never comprehend his deep philosophical truth, or is it because it just doesn't make sense? In fact, Chad makes more sense than him!

I particularly objected to being accused of filibustering since that is what I am pretty sure I never do.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z50LDnrnlq4 features Chris's conversation with Olson about church on Vanderklips. There you will read a mysterious comment by Luke that goes: 'Lot there. What initiation & rituals are most effective at shaping human beings and what is their relationship to time? The liturgy of “preaching the word” and having ideas and spoken truth as formational versus the liturgies of more ancient traditions?'

It's not even grammatical!

17:00  What I expect people to do is understand the nature of their predicament. If you are agreed that your ruling classes are corrupt and incompetent, why are they corrupt and incompetent? These are all economic, moral, political and social problems caused by the incorrect conception of the role of religion and the lack of a functioning moral system. The Founding Fathers appear to be contradicting themselves about their position on religion. I would have thought it is now time to discuss what they are and how it can be resolved. I think I have the answer. All I have been hoping for is from Americans is that they ask the obvious next question.

18:00  It's Jacob's way of saying Muslims should shut up and/or move out of the West. But even if I did -  not that I am Muslim - you would still have the problem of having your corrupt and incompetent ruling classes and America would still be starting WW3 and be behaving like the global bully starting neocon wars all over the place which it seems most Americans do not want.

19:00  But religion is politics! All the same buttons are pushed in us when we discuss either politics or religion. The point is that our own beliefs and opinions are sacred to us whether we are atheists or theists. Therefore there needs to be a supreme authority in our group to settle controversial questions. Continuing to sweep these issues under the carpet is not a sustainable solution. America is infamous for not having an official moral system.

We already know that the Pope and Archbishop of Canterbury in practice submit to the liberal order, but what does the liberal order submit to? The most powerful representative of the liberal order is the US whose President has no moral principles he would like to declare whose country is infamous for not having an official moral system and assassinating and kidnapping the leaders of countries who do not obey the orders of Washington.

In Iran they would refer to the Koran, in China they would refer to Marx's books and the books their leaders have written on their interpretation of Marxism, but what does any representative democracy have other than to submit to the world's number one superpower who behaves like the Wolf in Aesop's fable of The Wolf and the Lamb? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wolf_and_the_Lamb

19:15  I really do not know why you think it is part of my programme to remove the "woo" from anyone's religion! You guys carry on going to your usual place of religious worship while the laws are changed by Congress and do your woo thing as much as you like. At no time did I propose to close down any places of religious worship!

20:00  Mussolini was a kingdom with a monarch supported by the Catholic Church. Italy only became a republic in 1946 after WW2. It was he who negotiated the Lateran Treaty with the Pope in 1929. I would be interested to know which parts of the Lateran Treaty can be divided into the religious and political.

21:00  Luke should have let Jacob and I have it out, but he always feels he has to end exchanges when they get heated instead of letting them take their natural course.

41:00  Ron Copperman compliments Chris on his conversations with me!
