UK university students have lost ability to read between the lines and interpreted a metaphor literally

He only said Muslims should terrorise the bad elements of society. What a storm in a teacup.

Ugh, this is so embarrassingly primitive and so typically EDL.

At least the EDL have the excuse of being lower class without many GCSEs, but university students have no such excuse.

I guess the typical university student in Paedo Bastard Britain Slutland has lost its ability to recognise metaphor, analogy or any imaginative use of language.

The British these days are so stupid and hysterical these days they cannot even recognise it when a foreigner uses imaginative metaphors to express a moral exhortation to be nasty to criminals.

What will become of them?  I fear for the future, I really do.

We cannot fight a metaphorical war

"War on terror" is a metaphor, and we cannot fight a metaphor. If we attempt to, we will be fighting the whole world and by doing so incurring the enmity of the whole world.

What just happened in Kabul shows the utter futility of waging a "war" on terrorism. Such a "war" can only be a metaphor, and you cannot bomb a metaphor.

You can only deal with terrorists by dealing with their grievances, which you previously thought you could ignore with impunity.

Was there that much justice in British foreign policy in the invasion of "Afraq"?

80% of the Muslims in the world wish the US and UK harm.

Could it be time to acknowledge the error of our ways and resolve to do better in future?
