Yes and no. But the executive in Britain may be more active than the Indian one. Judicial activism increased in India due to this inactive

@ntfem Its not being appealed. But the govt. May bring amendment where by the pol parties b kept away from d RTI scanner.

"In view of the nature of public functions performed by political parties...we conclude that political parties in question are public authorities under section 2(h) of the RTI Act," the Bench, comprising Chief Information Commissioner Satyanand Mishra and Information Commissioners Annapurna Dixit and M L Sharma, said.

Party members in political parties have very few rights which is why they are all cowards and hypocrites. If we want better government we should allow politicians the right to criticise the policies of their parties without having their careers destroyed by their party.

Lord Justice Lloyd: "If the body in question is exercising public law functions, or if the exercise of its functions have public law consequences, then that may, as counsel for the applicants have submitted, be sufficient to bring the body within judicial review." It cannot be denied that Members of Parliament - all members of political parties - represent the Legislature which passes the law of the land. That this is not formally acknowledged by the judiciary is more to do with judicial reticence, rather than an honest appraisal of the practices and processes of law and government.
