On the subject of Hague being vaguely gay

http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2010/sep/02/william-hague-michael-white-political-briefing

Sometimes even I have trouble comprehending the full depth and extent of the rank hypocrisy that exists in British public life.

It has just dawned on me that only in this gay friendly country is it a career-damaging move for a male politician to share a hotel room with another man.

No doubt in countries where homosexuality acts are outlawed, nobody would bat an eyelid about one man sharing a room with another man.

And only in this country is one gay man not allowed to pay another gay man rent for staying in his flat without being made to pay it back out of his own pocket after this particular expense was disallowed under the rules of MPs' expenses.

Shocking, but true.
