Women and marriage

If women are a resource, then marriage is the fairest way of apportioning this resource. If women are a resource, what does that make men? If women are looked on by men as a resource, then it is up to men to husband this resource. If men are not up to being husbands, then they will have no descendants worthy of their name and will drop out of the picture anyway when they die without issue.

Should women mind being looked upon as a resource?

Would women really rather be men in that case? Women being women, many of them would not possess the characteristics that would make them marriageable men.
