Not only do China make cheaper and better mobile networks, they also make cheaper and better international politics programmes

Liu Xin, the presenter of The Point, is China's version of Julie Andrews, embodying purity, beauty and the long suffering patience required to deal with psychotic Western politicians outraged, envious and appalled that China is now powering ahead of them having fallen victim to a neurosis called "hegemonic angst".

The compassionate but pained manner with which she hears out some of her guests and refrains from retaliation is admirable and saintly, reminding one of a nanny dealing with a delinquent child or a kindly psychiatric nurse dealing with a particularly difficult patient.

She is the perfect projection of China's soft power.

Isn't Liu Xin utterly charming? We can tell that she is adored by her co-workers.

Those who are incapable of great crimes don't readily suspect others of them.

22:00 Perhaps things will settle down after the election's been lost and won after November.

24:00 SHOCK HORROR - There is no one in the US who can build mobile networks.

25:00 "Countries that don't have Huawei may find they don't have the best."
