The nature and purpose of a moral education (which can only come from religion)

12:00  MORAL EDUCATION

The nature and purpose of a moral education is to know what the rules are for and the nature of the evil to be discouraged. This includes the idea that there are certain laws that are universally useful. For example, we would all unhesitatingly agree that there should be a law against murder, theft, sexual immorality and inflicting unnecessary suffering on animals. This is because we all have lives and property to be lost and can agree that permitting extramarital sex and in particular incest etc would cause degeneracy and birth defects in the next generation. Consequently, we would agree that there should be a court and  legal system to enforce these universal laws in all civilised nations.

Even atheists might agree that the rule of law has been most effectively maintained by those following the laws said to be created by a Supreme Being ie the Mandate of Heaven as well as the Abrahamic God which come from logos.

For Aristotle, logos is something more refined than the capacity to make private feelings public: it enables the human being to perform as no other animal can; it makes it possible for him to perceive and make clear to others through reasoned discourse the difference between what is advantageous and what is harmful, between what is just and what is unjust, and between what is good and what is evil.

It is the rule of law that allows vast empires to be administered, thus advancing civilisation. Even if you don't believe in God, you would still have to agree that it would be useful to have in mind a hypothetical Supreme Supreme Court in the Sky that could award perfect justice if all the facts and arguments were known.

19:00  Israel is believed to be an ethnostate but these Jews hate each other for ideological/religious/political reasons. This means they do not have the shared values necessary to for a group to live together. A one party theocracy governed by the principles of Secular Koranism would in effect homogenise the views of religious and secular Jews if they can agree that the rules are a fair enough compromise making it easier for them to live together. Once they adopt this theocracy, the Muslims surrounding them could well be significantly mollified.

24:00  Moral education is basically knowledge of what the rules are as well as the evil they were made  to discourage.
