The role of religion in society, government and politics

There are fewer believing Christians (ie those who have undergone a confirmation ceremony to affirm that they believe an executed revolutionary is the co-equal of the supreme and eternal Abrahamic God who created the Universe) in the West than there are practising Muslims. Can any  civilisation survive without a religion effective at maintaining minimum standards of sexual morality ie ensuring that most parents in your society are married parents?

If Christianity is kaput, that means the West has no religion.

If you have no religion, you have no religious principles. If you have no religious principles, you have no moral principles. If you have no moral principles, you cannot defend any principle. If you cannot defend any principle you will forget what principles are for, and your civilisation will die.
The purpose of religion is not to get individuals to heaven, as the more credulous believe. The purpose of religion is to instil morality and morality is a system of rules to be followed in order to keep the group in existence and apart from others. Obviously, this would include the rearing of the next generation in optimum conditions and this logically and necessarily includes the gender relations feminists are always obsessing about.
