The Koran says hypocrites go to hell. There is a whole chapter about hypocrites in the Koran. Most people calling themselves Muslims are hell-bound then.

If you are supposed to believe in God and the afterlife but you don't really, then you are being a hypocrite, because the alternative would be heresy and ostracisation.
