12:00 Do people - and does Mark himself understand - that Mark Parker is more a liberal democrat than a Christian? He did say for all to hear that if he had to support either Sam Harris or Doug Wilson, he would support the atheist Sam Harris. His strongest emotion expressed on YouTube is not so much for Christianity or his Christian community but his hatred for Trump. I think the problem with Mark is that he just wants to be a mainstream when the mainstream is fragmenting for everyone. I know someone who said he would lie just to be with the cool gang. This is a friend of longstanding who said he would have no problem pretending to believe in the Trinity if that gave him access to the establishment. At other times he has also said that always felt himself to be a liberal. The mainstream used to be Christianity, then it became liberalism, and liberalism could be both Democrat and Republican, but nobody is sure any more these days since the liberal order is breaking down. The liberal order includes the liberal political economy and the political economy of liberalism is free trade, now being undermined by Trump threatening to impose tariffs on everyone left, right and centre.

38:00 IMHO, the real problem is that liberalism has become our religion without us or our governments consciously acknowledging this. Part of Mark Parker's problem is that he thinks other Americans eg Trump supporters are heretics to liberalism, and they are now everywhere. I really don't think he cares about Christianity that much because it is impossible to get him interested in the Trinity. He literally doesn't care about it. This suggests to me that he wears Christianity as an accessory ie as a woman might wear ear-rings or other jewelry with her party dress when religion was always meant to be worn as an armour or wielded as a weapon. This fundamental misunderstanding about the purpose of religion is what is causing the problem.
Yet, in America, the church has been separated from the state. This means it doesn't matter what church you go to on Sunday or whether you go to a different church this Sunday, the law of the land is not going to be changed by Congress because you are one kind of Christian rather than another kind of Christian. Nancy Pelosi and other senior politicians only wear their Christianity as an accessory, not to be taken seriously. Liberalism is still their official party dress.
In America, the only kind of Christianity is cultural Christianity ie Accessory Christianity. It cannot be any other kind until and unless Americans decide to become a Christian Republic and pass a Christian Amendment implicitly abolishing the First Amendment. And then Americans will be fighting each other over being the right kind of Christian again. Do Americans really want to fight an American War of Religions? Isn't it enough to extract historical lessons from the ones the Europeans have already fought?
Sadly, for Europeans claiming to be Christian, they do not seem to care enough about the wars of their Christian ancestors to even ask themselves which side won.
