Solon ended exclusive aristocratic control of the government, substituted a system of control by the wealthy, and introduced a new and more humane law code. He was also a noted poet.

If David Cameron could have blocked the Scottish referendum but didn't, are he and his advisers incompetent and negligent?
Did you know that David Cameron could have insisted that no one below 18 can vote in the Scottish Referendum? Or that the Union cannot be dissolved until the majority of British voters over the age of 18 agree to it?
If David Cameron and perhaps one or some or all of his advisers committed ritual suicide, do you think it might make the Yessies of Scotland think again, thereby averting a national catastrophe, and making the British, who are already an international laughing stock even more of an international stock after they resume their separate national identities of being merely Welsh, English and Scottish?
Has the BBC even considered whether the Scots will be paying the licence fee after Independence?
Should I now be put in charge of the NO campaign?
If David Cameron believe the Japanese form of ritual suicide to be inappropriate to an Englishman, perhaps he will consider the Roman method of opening his veins in the bath? He is not a general so I cannot suggest the method of falling on his sword.
There is a difference between answering a question properly and appearing to answer the question. Record interviews with BBC, ITV, C4 and Sky warning British against tolerating SSMs, especially Scottish SSMs minded to accept the shameless bribes of Alex Salmond and also urging them to disenfranchise non-taxpayers.

Ann to make speech denouncing Scottish SSMs being the ruin of Scotsmen, their commercial interests as well as the great and historic union between England and Scotland. Robin Tillbrook the "English Democrat" also to be denounced as a treacherous little oik who is not any foreigner's idea of a proper Englishman.
This EVIL man wants to be King Alex of Scotland and he is bribing the SSMs of Scotland with childcare and crap to make them vote Yes. What do you think he will do with the silly little Scotties once he has them in his power in his one-party state? He will turn them into HAGGIS, oh yes he will!
The biggest shift has been among women. One of the features of the campaign so far has been the huge gender gap, with men only narrowly favouring the union, and women overwhelmingly opposed to independence. The gap remains big, but it is not as vast as it used to be. A month ago, women opposed independence by 68-32%; now the figure is 62-38%. Men divide 54-46% in favour of the union, little changed on our last two surveys.
What has happened? It’s not that there has been a surge in female support for the SNP. Their voting intentions for Holyrood are virtually unchanged.
Nor is it that women are coming round to the belief that they will personally better off in an independent Scotland. Just 17% expect this, much the same as the 16% we recorded when we last asked this question in December. Far more, 40%, expect to be worse off.
What has changed is what women expect for Scotland as a whole. Three months ago, 52% of women thought Scotland’s economy would suffer under independence, while just 22% expected things to improve – a vast 30-point chasm. Today, the gap has almost halved to 18 points, with 45% of women fearing that the economy would get worse, and 27% expecting it to get better. Once again, there has been little shift in the answers men give (33% worse, 44% better in our latest survey).
One possible explanation for the shift among Scotland’s women is that Alex Salmond has acted on past warnings of his lack of female support for independence. He has unveiled a new strategy for child care, offering a significant expansion if Holyrood wins full powers to tax and spend as it pleased.
It’s not often that a single policy statement changes votes. It is more likely that Salmond’s new policy has helped to counter a more widespread, perhaps sub-conscious, sense that independence is a macho project with risks that men are more willing to take. It could be that some women, hitherto nervous about independence, find a reassurance in Salmond’s child care policy that goes beyond the specific benefits that would go to families with young children.
What is to be done?
I urge Ann Coulter to visit Britain to propose the abolition of female suffrage, before they cause any more damage. We all know British females are infamously promiscuous and that most British mothers are SSMs.
Even if the Home Secretary (female) subjects her to an exclusion order it would still be worth the exercise, just to make a point.
Please, Ann, come, speak to us, and save the Scotties from Scottish SSMs bribed by Shrek, who wants to be King Alex of Scotland! They are stupid and don't know what they are doing, like most British people. The Old World needs you!

Fascism and Nazism was a reaction against liberalism and representative democracy.
Fascism was not antisemitic in Italy because Mussolini was not antisemitic while Nazism took a virulently antisemitic form because Hitler was antisemitic, but it was the nature of Christianity to be antisemitic. If you read Mein Kampf, you will find that Hitler did not start off antisemitic and conflates Jews with liberals.
Let us have a different narrative, please, and accept that people who are not naturally political or ideological are made uneasy about radical changes to their country and therefore wish to express their unease so that their government listens to them.
If immigration upsets people, then why continue upsetting them?
If the working classes are no longer fit for the purpose of work then make them fit for purpose, rather than seek to replace them with immigrant workers.
Only good government will prevent the chaos that you fear.

I don't expect a response, to be honest.
Don't you think it rather odd that Bambery is now claiming that he was not already aware of my views and my political affiliations until now? He is after all a journalist.
Do you think the Reds put the frighteners on him? Did they threaten him and his family with violence?
He didn't seem terribly interested in speaking to me to see if I would be OK for TV. I might have a terrible stutter or be as mad as a hatter, as so many people claim I am. I suppose all this could even be a form of psychological warfare.
I have contacted Sahar TV to check with them if they do indeed find my views unacceptable with a link to this post. Press TV are quite comfortable with the British Right last time I looked, and Sahar TV are linked to them, I believe. Either Bambery is doing this for personal reasons, or he has been got at. Either way the reasons of a weedy white man of the Left tend to be venal and dishonourable.

Explain, in your own words, why you think Scottish Independence would be good for BRITAIN AS A WHOLE.
All the English have to do is offer the Scotties massive tax cuts.
Shrek is a PC Statist and all PC Statists want BIG GOVERNMENT and this means higher taxes and more laws than anti-statist Libertarians.
All the English have to do is offer the Scotties a smaller government, with fewer laws and lower taxes. (And whatever tax cuts the Scotties get, so will the English.)
If they are silly enough to refuse, then they have been warned that the military option will be used.
I like to think that most Scotties are not really socialists and only pretend to be because they hate the English and wish to upset them and hurt their feelings.
