It's almost the kind of approach of 'we know what's best for you brown people.' I find that patronising. On Question Time I said where are the leaders of the white people and they all went: 'er, let's move on'.

I wonder what she thinks of direct democracy, so we are not subject to the amoral decisions of any of our corrupt self-seeking leaders, just our consciences and our reason.
Perhaps Tim Winter AKA Abdal Hakim Murad can give us a fatwa on whether direct democracy could ever be unIslamic?
I would have thought the Koran's warning against people schismatically dividing themselves into sects and rejoicing in their own doctrines is a conclusive enough endorsement of government by referenda, by God Himself, if you believe in Him.
YUSUFALI: But people have cut off their affair (of unity), between them, into sects: each party rejoices in that which is with itself.
