Out of 273 male members of the House of Representatives, 100 or 36% of them voted against invading Iraq.
Out 502 male MPs, only 190 or 37% of them voted against the war.
Out of 56 female members of the House of Representatives, 33 or 56% of them of voted against invading Iran.
Compare the decision-making powers of the female members of the Lower House of the US to that of the female members of the Lower House of the UK.
Out of 110 female MPs, only 27 or 24% of them voted against the war.
http://thevoiceofreason-ann.blogspot.co.uk/2015/02/female-mps-even-more-useless-than-male.html
What explains the obviously superior decision-making powers of female members of the House of Representatives compared to that of significantly poorer decision-making powers of female MPs in Britain in 2003?
I would suggest that it is the absence of the moral abomination of all-female shortlists in the US that New Labour introduced that explains the difference. Only female politicians that are better and wiser than male politicians got through the selection process in the US, while female candidates in the UK who were inferior to male candidates got through just because they were female.
The damage done by all-women shortlists will take generations to repair, probably, and I would advise Americans not to tread on the same road to perdition the British have trodden.

@David_A_Hussey I am not saying the selection process of US congressional candidates is perfect, just less bad than all-women short-lists.

@David_A_Hussey I am grateful that you indeed grasp my point! It was very disheartening to only receive uncomprehending nonsense from women.
— Claire Khaw (@ntfem) February 7, 2015
@iainkgardner There is so much that needs to be done and so much time being wasted waiting for the next election or for someone to fail.

@David_A_Hussey It was obvious that Blair's Babes were just lobby fodder, was what I was saying.

@David_A_Hussey Think of me as a sane lunatic who instinctively knows that her asylum would be worse run if the lunatics ever took over.

@David_A_Hussey More people outside Parliament knew invading Iraq was wrong ab initio than MPs who had access to the "evidence".
— Claire Khaw (@ntfem) February 7, 2015
@David_A_Hussey The Iraq dossier highlights how much more likely you are to be right being a rationalist than being an empiricist.
— Claire Khaw (@ntfem) February 7, 2015
@David_A_Hussey Voters don't vote on foreign policy, only 4 the party with the most appealing bribe: that is the moral deficit of democracy.
— Claire Khaw (@ntfem) February 7, 2015
@David_A_Hussey Even when voters have their liberties restricted cos of the "war on terrorism" still they take no interest in foreign policy
— Claire Khaw (@ntfem) February 7, 2015
@David_A_Hussey Voters mostly an unthinking bunch of morons and can't think their way out of a paper bag. Solution: disenfranchise morons.

@David_A_Hussey I am afraid I am not a democrat at all. Good government is more important than letting stupid venal people vote.
— Claire Khaw (@ntfem) February 7, 2015
@David_A_Hussey I think the problem is that foreign policy does not get the same voter scrutiny as domestic policy ie taxes, prices etc.
— Claire Khaw (@ntfem) February 7, 2015
@David_A_Hussey It is only in foreign policy that one's powers of moral reasoning are exercised. Most voters obviously aren't up to it.
— Claire Khaw (@ntfem) February 7, 2015
@David_A_Hussey Most voters don't care who their government robs, murders and invades as long as it does not affect them.
— Claire Khaw (@ntfem) February 7, 2015
@David_A_Hussey I am a libertarian who paradoxically believes it is through a theocracy that we will get rationally small government again.
— Claire Khaw (@ntfem) February 7, 2015
@David_A_Hussey I am afraid I have come to the conclusion that representative democracy is a moral black hole and cannot reform itself.
— Claire Khaw (@ntfem) February 7, 2015
@David_A_Hussey The only way to make them care is to propose a system of no representation without taxation, but our politicians are cowards
— Claire Khaw (@ntfem) February 7, 2015
@David_A_Hussey Not only are all political leaders cowards, they cannot see beyond the next election, which is never more than 5 years away.
— Claire Khaw (@ntfem) February 7, 2015
@David_A_Hussey The Chinese think in centuries, but the Western politician cannot think beyond 5 years. As for the voter ...
— Claire Khaw (@ntfem) February 7, 2015
@David_A_Hussey Someone needs to propose a holistic solution, and the only people who have anything like this are the Radical Muslims.
— Claire Khaw (@ntfem) February 7, 2015
@David_A_Hussey It is in theory possible to accelerate the rot. Unwanted buildings are often dynamited ....

@David_A_Hussey Sadly, civilisations take centuries to fall, and when it comes it is through war and revolution.
— Claire Khaw (@ntfem) February 7, 2015
@David_A_Hussey As I was telling a school boy a few days ago, the Austro-Hungarian Empire was destroyed by just one act of terrorism.
— Claire Khaw (@ntfem) February 7, 2015
@David_A_Hussey I agree, so we should think of political systems as a boiler, and every boiler will work for a time until it conks out.
— Claire Khaw (@ntfem) February 7, 2015
@David_A_Hussey When an old boiler is about to conk out, you should shop around for the most efficient system you can afford.
— Claire Khaw (@ntfem) February 7, 2015
@David_A_Hussey What must be done is to have in place a political system where only the best rise in politics.
