I would be happy not to vote if I trusted my government to do the right thing. Even if you vote, play and win by the rules, the government still doesn't give you what you voted for. We should stop being so fixated on voting as a means of solving the problems of our political system. Trump's presidency has taught us the lesson that it doesn't matter who we vote for, the deep state which wants us to remain a matriarchy (because that keeps us stupid and weak) will find a way of thwarting the people's will, and that will is not to live cheek by jowl with foreigners who have just arrived and presume to be our equals in their entitlements from our government.
THE VOICE OF REASON Solon, (born c. 630 BCE—died c. 560 BCE), Athenian statesman, known as one of the Seven Wise Men of Greece (the others were Chilon of Sparta, Thales of Miletus, Bias of Priene, Cleobulus of Lindos, Pittacus of Mytilene, and Periander of Corinth). Solon ended exclusive aristocratic control of the government, substituted a system of control by the wealthy, and introduced a new and more humane law code. He was also a noted poet.
