The weakest link is the one who fails to do his duty in the role he has been assigned.
The question of our respective roles falls to be decided so we know what we are supposed to do. It is the role of men to defend patriarchal moral values if they desire to live in a patriarchy.
My definition of patriarchy is that it is a society that prioritises the preferences of married fathers who wish to properly parent their legitimate offspring.
My definition of matriarchy is that it is a society that prioritises the preferences of unmarried mothers with variously fathered illegitimate offspring indifferent to their parenting.
The advantage of living in a patriarchy for me is that men are respected and expected to govern. Its disadvantage is its lack of sexual freedom.
The advantage of living in a matriarchy for women is that women get to treated as equals with men and women enjoying sexual freedom.
The long term-thinker would favour the patriarchy, and the short-term thinker would favour the matriarchy.
Belief in the afterlife is the best example of long-term thinking, atheism incapable of thinking beyond the next sexual encounter or next election a short-term thinking. This is the difference between Ant civilisations and Grasshopper civilisations.

The major difference between humans and non-human animals is that the latter do not marry and have no capacity for abstract thought.
Ideals are an abstract noun and men have been known to die for ideals such as duty to one's tribe and nation.
Generally, men are known for their capacity for abstract thought, while women "reason" only with their feelings.
The most powerful idea conceivable is the Abrahamic God, and since He is already in existence as a concept, we might as well use Him to assist us in our politics and religion, rather than think we have all the time in the world to invent our own religion and rules when the sky is about to fall on our heads.
Patriarchy has a command structure resembling that of the military, which is a pyramid structure, with the general as the leader. In a patriarchy, the man with the best communication skills and the most charisma should rule, hopefully with wisdom and justice. A patriarchy is a society whose beta males choose their alpha males.
Matriarchy has no command structure because of its assumption of egalitarianism. Who would be most powerful in such a society? The ones who most command our emotional responses by their youth and beauty, of course. Beauty does not last and youth is often foolish. A matriarchy is a society in which all men are lower in status than the unmarried mother.

Who then is the weakest link? The weakest link is any man who will not acknowledge the truth, use logic or be guided by morality. The least a human ought to do is abide by these rules, whatever his religion or political views. The weakest link is therefore someone who refuses to acknowledge any of the above, which I believe satisfy the conditions of being true, logical and moral.
