Was Churchill the ultimate war profiteer?

https://www.churchillcentral.com/how-much-is-winston-churchills-net-worth/

Shouldn't British imperialists and their descendants hate Churchill - who was a drunk, a depressive and rude to his servants - for being a warmonger who lost them their global empire? In this regard, they should be be in agreement with Black Lives Matter in wanting to tear down his statue. Sure, Hitler - who was a teetotaler remembered with affection by his servants - was mean to Jews, but then antisemitism is a peculiarly Christian trait and is endemic in Christian Europe. Christianity is a confused and contradictory mish-mash of hating Jews while idolatrously worshipping one of them as the co-equal of God who created the Universe. The West is in a state of chaos because of its failed political system caused by its failed religion only a few Westerners now pretend to believe in. It is time Westerners examined their history - particularly the history of Christianity as well as that of Western imperialism - to investigate what went wrong for them and when.

White privilege is imperial privilege which causes white guilt.

Let's hope white people will be able to defend their statues because tourists like to photograph them, when they come again.

If it could be shown Churchill financially benefited from WW2, there could even be racial reconciliation.

Not sure how much irony is in there. Churchill did lead this country to do battle AGAINST a racist ideology though he may have had character flaws. But it is true antisemitism has its roots in the Gospel of John:

Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.

And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,

And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.

Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.

Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!

When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.

The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

JOHN 19: 1 - 7.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanhedrin_trial_of_Jesus gives an account of the trial of Jesus according to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. This is the Christian version.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judaism%27s_view_of_Jesus#Jesus_in_rabbinical_literature makes clear that Jews can barely bring themselves to mention Christ in terms fit for Christians to hear. It is not hard to make out the case that Christianity was crafted by those with the specific aim of outraging the feelings of Jews. After all, what could be more blasphemous to Jews than to worship someone they revile whom they have found guilty of the capital crime of blasphemy? Not only do Christians worship Christ idolatrously, they worship him as the co-equal of the supreme and eternal Abrahamic God who created the Universe, which is the God they worship.

Sadly, Jews, Christians, Muslims and Atheists are all equally capable of waging wars ...

Of course, but it was the Americans who nuked unarmed Japanese civilians in two Japanese cities twice. This was presumably for the temerity of trying to acquire their own empire which only white people are allowed to do, it seems.

Claire, you make a lot of assertions, but with little or no evidence, and you leave out other information. If I recall, the Muslims imposed their religion on many peoples in much the same manner as the 'christian' nations using the same weapons: swords, torture, etc. A grand example of their wonderful adherence to the rules of warfare has been illustrated by the recent ISIS debacle.

So my point is this, you don't make blanket statements judging others without accurate information, especially in this forum. We don't allow the promotion of any particular brand of religion, and we don't allow misleading statements about other religions if we can help it. BTW: During the War Between the States, not everyone was English-speaking, nor were they all Protestants. Learn some history before you try to give lectures.

As I understood it and meant to say, the participants of the American Civil War were mainly English-speaking and mainly Protestant. If you have any evidence to the contrary, I would be happy to accept any correction.

As I understand it, ISIS were mercenaries recruited and armed by America to topple certain governments the Americans wanted out of the way eg Gaddafi and Assad.

I fail to see the connection between Christendom and WWI. WWI was mainly spurned by nationalism and alliances in the Balkan region of Europe, nothing really Christendom related. Likewise, religions don't kill people. People kill people.

Religion is an ideological weapon of war, is it not?

RB said...

No.

Claire Khaw said...

Didn't the Pope call the Crusades a Holy War?

RB said...

Sure, but that doesn't mean that religion is inherently a weapon, nor more than socialism is inherently a weapon, or a rock is. Its not the tool or the system, it is the person using it.

Any moral system should contain the rules of choosing the best leader available, or at least suggest qualities required for this role. Wisdom is a desirable leadership quality, is it not?

You are conflating thee actions of people and power structures with the teachings of Jesus and the church. Even some teachings of the church are incorrect.

This is the second post where you have treated your suppositions and personal views as what... as truth.

Have studied the precepts of Jesus, like "he who lives by the sword shall die by the sword?" Then there's "blessed are the peacemakers, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
You seem to make uneducated, or at least uninformed and carelessly discerned, comments.

Claire Khaw said...

"Blessed are the peacemakers" only works if you believe in God and the afterlife.

Going full Jihad, Claire? Islam has been one of the most violent movements in history--but that doesn't interest you, it seems to me.

How would you measure the violence of one religion against another?
