Does Nigella Lawson owe Charles Saatchi £685,000, and will he sue her for it?

Charles Saatchi has reportedly dropped his threat to sue ex-wife Nigella Lawson for £500,000.

The full details of his allegations about Nigella's behaviour cannot be made public for legal reasons, but have been strongly denied by her spokesman and her lawyers. 

But Saatchi’s claims could now be revealed at London’s High Court after his lawyers sent a legal letter to his former wife’s solicitors warning that he was poised to sue her for around half a million pounds in a bid to clear his name. 

The chillingly formal letter lays out serious allegations against the popular cook and claims her actions have cost her former husband a fortune. 

It warns that if she refuses to settle the matter voluntarily, legal action in court will ensue.

If the Grillo sisters are not guilty of credit card fraud then the jury must have accepted that Nigella Lawson approved their spending.  If she approved the spending then she must be liable to her ex-husband for that sum.

Instead of being Domestic Goddess she is now Domestic Violence Goddess as well as being known for being stupid and faithless epitomising what a rotten deal you get if you generally get if you marry a British wife whose character has been destroyed by feminism.

It seems that our ex-Chancellor of the Exchequer, Nigella's father father Nigel Lawson, was incapable of giving her any sensible advice or she incapable of acting upon it if it was ever given.

Crikey. Charles Saatchi was in fact legally advised. Why on earth did he think the photos would go away after he took the caution????? They will be there to haunt him FOREVER!!!!

What is happening, even to supposedly clever rich Jewish people whom you think ought to know better?

I may be no Jewish mamma, but if Nigella were my daughter I would have sent her straight back to her husband to stand by him.  Even if she did intend to divorce him later, she should just stand by him for now to show herself to be a supportive wife doing her best to show solidarity with her husband.

If 70 year old Charles were my son and I was still in the land of the living with all my marbles in my head and not rolling all over the floor, I would have

(1)  told him not to take the caution and wait to see if his wife would pursue charges
(2)  made a discreet call to her dad Nigel to see if he did not agree with me that it would be a good thing if both our children stayed married to each other, on the whole, in the name of Jewish solidarity and all that.

Sorted.

So they called on him and took him to the cop shop. Was he well advised to accept a caution?

The question is: would YOU have accepted the caution if you were him?

I think it was rather foolish of him.

Accepting a caution is an admission of guilt.

If I were him I would have put the ball into her court to see if she would do the dirty on me.   If she did, I would then accept the inevitable divorce.

Of course, if she decided not to press charges, I would be very contrite and very grateful and love her even more.

If you had married a woman who would do this to you, then you shouldn't have married her, perhaps, if this was your first offence.

He should have sought legal advice.  If he had sought legal advice and was told by his lawyer to accept a caution, then that lawyer should now be named and shamed.

Onlookers claimed Lawson dabbed her eyes on a napkin as her husband tapped his cigarettes on the table.

She is then said to have downed her glass of red wine before beginning to speak in a trembling voice, placing a hand on his left wrist on the table.

At one point, she leaned over and kissed his cheek.

Let us assume for the purposes of this discussion that he did intend to upset her.

I wish them both well, I really do, and trust they can sort out their problems.  

If Nigella says nothing to contradict her husband's account, then all should be well.  Clearly, her adolescent children have behavioural issues and she should address that, because that is clearly annoying him too.
