The utilitarian and teleological Abrahamic Darwinian God

It is the easiest thing to demonstrate the wisdom of laws said to be from the Abrahamic God.

Once this wisdom is demonstrated and accepted, one will be led towards the logic of obeying them.

Once we accept the logic of obeying them, we would have to accept the utility of believing in God's actual existence to keep our society obeying these laws from generation to generation in order to avoid the pain of having to relearn the painful lessons of human nature over and over again.

A good use for wise old people

What shall we do with the whingeing oldie?
What shall we do with the whingeing oldie?
What shall we do with the whingeing oldie earlie in the New Year?

I wouldn't actually exterminate them if they were compos mentis, as many people mistakenly think.

They can be "curated" in care homes homes for the articulate and compos mentis oldie to be interviewed by social historians as living exhibits about their lives and times.

They can also be asked about their greatest mistakes in life and be quizzed about any beliefs they held when young which proved to be incorrect in maturity and old age.

The wisest person should lead the nation. Are Western philosophers able to recognise wisdom though?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philosopher_king

Plato - only the wise should rule

Plato however neglected to define wisdom nor did he explain how it is to be measured.

What sort of political system would produce the wisest leader?

How is the wisest leader to be chosen?

Are modern philosophers able to do better?

Yet we already know that Western philosophy is a waste of time and so is the three years spent acquiring a degree in Academic Philosophy.   It is three years spent learning how to talk like an arse, making everyone hate you and being unemployable and despised for the rest of your life.

Academic philosophers are contemptible though in their arrogance, incoherence, obscurity and singular lack of wisdom.

What would these pretentious nincompoops know about wisdom or about measuring it?

Nothing.  They are only Reds and subversives.

The purpose of life according to the Koran

040.067
YUSUFALI: It is He Who has created you from dust then from a sperm-drop, then from a leech-like clot; then does he get you out (into the light) as a child: then lets you (grow and) reach your age of full strength; then lets you become old,- though of you there are some who die before;- and lets you reach a Term appointed; in order that ye may learn wisdom.

PICKTHAL: He it is Who created you from dust, then from a drop (of seed) then from a clot, then bringeth you forth as a child, then (ordaineth) that ye attain full strength and afterward that ye become old men - though some among you die before - and that ye reach an appointed term, that haply ye may understand.

SHAKIR: He it is Who created you from dust, then from a small lifegerm, then from a clot, then He brings you forth as a child, then that you may attain your maturity, then that you may be old-- and of you there are some who are caused to die before-- and that you may reach an appointed term, and that you may understand.
