Orwell Prize for blogging suspended because of Claire Khaw

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2012/oct/24/blogging-orwell-prize

"Complaints – some specious and petty, some better founded – about bloggers or what they said would come straight to us: we have to take them seriously as no one else will and it has stretched our capacity to the limits."

Blogging is the only way an unknown political writer can come to the notice of the public.

However, The Orwell Prize, which is certainly very much a part of the liberal establishment, is absolutely determined that even this avenue will be denied to new writers, especially if they have views that offend their PC liberal feminist atheist sensibilities.

So there you are.

How ironic that it should turn out that The Orwell Prize would be the one to be the boot stamping on the face of free speech.
