They are treated like shit because they are perceived to be shit.

What have they done to lower taxes and keep us safe from the fear of crime and the fear of not getting justice when we are victims of crime? Or improve the laughable state of British "education"? Or anything at all?

Instead they have voted for us to enter a dishonourable and ruinous war.

I think only a ritual suicide would assuage public anger now. Perhaps the Japanese have something to teach us about this.

There has been much talk lately about MPs feeling suicidal and it might be an idea to choose just one who is feeling most suicidal to redeem the political class as a whole. A mass suicide may be considered excessive and unnecessary.

I do believe the British public would appreciate such a gesture.

Storming the Tower of London

A group of rebels stormed the Tower of London— probably after being let in— and summarily executed those hiding there, including the Lord Chancellor (Simon of Sudbury*, the Archbishop of Canterbury, who was particularly associated with the poll tax), and the Lord Treasurer (Robert de Hales**, the Grand Prior of the Knights Hospitallers of England).

* In January of 1380, Sudbury became Lord Chancellor of England,and the insurgent peasants regarded him as one of the principal authors of their woes ... the Kentish insurgents attacked and damaged the archbishop's property at Canterbury and Lambeth; then, rushing into the Tower of London, they seized the archbishop himself. So unpopular was Sudbury that guards simply allowed the rebels through the gates. Sudbury was dragged to Tower Hill and, on 14 June 1381, was beheaded. His body was afterwards buried in Canterbury Cathedral, though his head (after being taken down from London Bridge) is still kept at the church of St Gregory at Sudbury in Suffolk, which Sudbury partly rebuilt.

I can't understand what the fuss is all about. On the one hand we wring our hands about

1. global warming caused by
2. over-population
3. the unproductive nature of unproductive people suffering from, for example, terminal illnesses, dementia, insanity
4. the ability of productive citizens to support growing numbers of the unproductive

and on the other wring our hands about assisted suicide possibly not being the "marvellous opportunity" Ludwig Minelli claims it is.

Sometimes, suicide is the only honourable way out.

Examples that come to mind are:

1. Hitler (who preferred not to have to ask the German people to forgive him or the Allies to spare him when he knew the game was up)

2. Roman Generals (who "fell on their swords" and had slaves present to assist them)

In my opinion now seems a marvellous opportunity for suggesting this "marvellous opportunity" to people such as Lord Myners, Fred the Shred, Bush, Blair, Brown, anyone in a position of power who was responsible for policies leading to the Credit Crunch, and those responsible for decades of US and UK foreign policy in the Middle East after WW2 that led to 9/11, including all the MPs who voted for the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan ...
