CLOSE BUT NO CIGAR by David Jones on the Todmorden councillor elections

"The election result for my by election in Todmorden Central campaign was:

Jones, David (Independent): 127 (25.5%)
Rez, Josef Arthur (Liberal Democrat): 361 (71.5%)

Rejected Papers: 15
Turnout: 503.(22.5%)

Neither the Labour Party, nor the Conservatives fielded candidates in this high-profile ward, and the Liberal Democrats weren’t expecting me to stand either.

Before Joe Rez and I began our respective campaigns I spoke to persuade him to not resort to personal attacks, which we both agreed the campaign should be kept to voters issues which I honoured. He talked about imposing speed-limits and opposed supermarkets, whilst my local issues revolved around the decline of morality and local unemployment.

Other than my being an Independent there were two differences to my campaign:

I wanted to include as wide a possible range of nationalists in my campaign, involving nationalists of all parties, shades and varieties. My campaign included nationalists from the groups both sides of the Pennines and farther afield. I would like to thank all who supported me.

I gave my campaign a twist, not only including the traditional bread and butter issues around immigration and unemployment but a strong moral plank centred around the decline of family values, partially to counter a very strong gay vote

The local Liberal Democrat party boss Michael Taylor had other ideas however, he and his daughter decided that the Liberal Democrats best chances were to attack me as a “far right extremist” over and over. He even involved his daughter in the campaign, which I retaliated with leaflets demanding to know why an MEP would feel the need to interfere in a local election.

Polling day was going extremely well until around eight o’clock. When carloads of Pakistani voters swamped the polling station (which is odd since most of them were, as I was told, were out of the country, and very few of them I recognised either—I must say). At both the Town Hall & St. Josephs School, in which I supervised the doors on each three times, for half an hour at a time, it was clear that I was the favourite for white voters.

Central Ward is one of five (Civil Parish) Wards that make up the District Ward of Todmorden Ward. My personal vote, since the last Town Council election, has risen to a majority in my home ward and I am targeting other areas where I feel there is potential to improve my vote.

I feel that, although I did not win, I have maintained my integrity, which (politics aside) my voters consider to be both my main quality and the qualities required of a politician. The Liberal Democrats have gained a seat, but lost one thing they will never get back, their honour.

Hopefully my participation and 25.5% will serve as a model for nationalists, despite political differences, to unite and keep fighting for what we know in our hearts to be true and right, maintain our honour and keep fighting. I would like to thank all those who placed their faith in me, and to anybody who wants to write me off as a failure, adios!"

Police attempt to intimidate David Jones and pay him a visit this morning

Dave Jones looking the very model of a modern nationalist councillor

Oh dear.  It seems that the Liberal Democrats are getting nervous and putting the frighteners on David Jones of Todmorden, councillor candidate.  Polling day 25 October 2012.

Just had 3 police round with photo of us with rifles on EDL news page http://edlnews.co.uk/index.php/featured-stories/derek-fender-corner/721-election2012-neo-nazi-david-jones-explains-why-he-might-not-get-elected (printed out), Intelligence told them to 'have a quiet word' not kick my door in."

CK to DJ:

Wot did they say?

DJ to CK 9:57:

Looked at guns, asked when photo taken [It was taken in April and the photos first appeared at http://thevoiceofreason-ann.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/httpwww.html], "had a complaint, wanted to sort it quietly."  When I queried who it was, they motioned my leaflet and said "councillor?"

The tweets by Liberal Democrat MEP Rebecca Taylor are quite revealing.  Looks like the LibDems are pulling out all the stops in their organ of dirty tricks in an attempt to suggest that Dave is a Nazi nutter and would be a disgrace to the office of councillor if he were ever elected.

Actually, Rebecca, Dave told Jeffrey Marshall and me on our visit to Todmorden that he was considering "going civic" as long as a year ago before he met me.

We also bumped into your father Dr Michael Taylor on Friday evening canvassing with Joe Rez and another.  It was quite amusing the way he froze when he saw the three of us coming down the street after our country walk back into town.

The other thing that has to be said is that most of the locals stop to have a chat with Dave and he seems well-respected.   Would the locals be quite so friendly with Joe Rez, I wonder.

I must say too that Dave is a man of action and acts on ideas and doesn't just sit on new ideas for years and years and years the way lesser politicians and activists do, until they become old ideas.

We even visited  Abid Husain's shop on Saturday where he bought a lighter.   We all shook hands quite  amicably and discussed the floods.   I was interested to meet the man who seemed so cheerful even as he was telling the Today Programme about how he had to spend all night clearing up the mess left by the most recent flood.   There was something very charming about his resigned chuckle, I thought.  Abid is the Mayor of Todmorden.

Very sportingly Dave also took us on an Incredible Edible walk when Jeffrey Marshall and I praised the pretty fish and bee murals along the canal, which cannot have pleased Dave who wants them to "take their poly-tunnels with them" when they leave Todmorden, as he said in his leaflet. This was after we bumped into Helena Cook, an Incredible Edible, in the market and Dave challenged her about the "bee money".

The pretty fish mural by the Incredible Edibles

Helena and Dave spoke very civilly to each other and when she sang the praises of the things the Incredible Edibles have done for Todmorden and talked about the Bee Walk, I was intrigued and asked Dave to take us on that walk, which must have delighted Helena, who happily gave us directions.

Dave dislikes the Incredible Edibles because of their newfangled city ways of growing vegetables, I believe.  I am afraid I am not really familiar with the arguments about the Incredible Edibles and have have only the vaguest idea about what a poly-tunnel is.

@Jamesdbaker1 does the #Todmorden town council "independent" (kicked out of British People's Party) candidate have a gun license I wonder?

DAVID JONES' MESSAGE TO TODMORDEN'S VOTERS WHO ARE UNEASY ABOUT GAY MARRIAGE

As you are all aware, I am up against Liberal Democrat Joe Rez as an Independent for the Central Ward of the Town Council. Liberal Democrat campaigners on behalf of Mr Rez have attacked me for my stance against 'gay marriage', yet it seems to me they are relying on a bloc vote from Todmorden's sizeable Islamic community.

If the Liberal Democrats are attacking me as "homophobic", then they also attack their own Muslim and Christian voters as "homophobic". Both the Bible and Quran state that marriage is between a man and a woman and both disapprove of homosexuality.

The Quran commands believers not only to abstain from, but also to discourage homosexuality, for Muslims are exhorted to enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil and it follows that Muslims must regard as evil what is expressly forbidden by the Koran.

Homosexuality is expressly forbidden by the Koran.

Now is surely the time to take a stand against 'gay marriage' when the LibLabCon oligarchy have together conspired to make it appear that anyone who is against gay marriage is immoral and odd, while liberals all over the Western world are seeking to sanctify a sin by introducing 'gay marriage'.

Christians and Muslims must stick to their scriptural principles and vote against the Liberal Democrat Joe Rez, who is also the Mayoral Consort of Abid Hussain, who is the Liberal Democrat Mayor of Todmorden and also a Muslim.

Muslims and Christians of Todmorden who are against 'gay marriage' now have the chance to make a stand against it and this opportunity must not be missed.

Gay men and women already have the civil partnership and can inherit from each other free of inheritance tax just like a husband and wife.  There is therefore no reason why they should insist on encroaching on marriage, which all right-thinking members of society must know was originally created only for men and women to bring up children of the marriage together in a stable family environment with a mother and a father.

This is surely the ideal that all of us, whatever our religion, should strive for as parents if we want to invest in the future of the next generation as well as the future of the nation.

Telling the youth of today that it is acceptable to be gay will do nothing for the next generation or Britain's intentional competitiveness, which will require a young labour force to replace the old.

Thursday 25 October is the time to make a stand against PC liberal extremism.  It may well be your last opportunity to do so.

If we look after the next generation, the next generation will look after us.

David Jones campaigns for election: polling day 25 October 2012

By David Jones, Independent Pennine Nationalist,
Todmorden, East Lancashire

With a great deal of pleasure I announce that I have submitted a valid nomination form for a snap Town Council by-election scheduled (for October 25th), as an Independent.

I shall be fighting the "Central" ward of Todmorden Town Centre on some matters held very dear to me that I did not emphasise so much as a four-time candidate for a small nationalist party, ie the decline of the traditional family, the betrayal of our war veterans, small, limited governance, as well as my better known platform nationalism of fighting corruption.

My vote has been rising fast in Todmorden and I am announcing it here as this blog has tirelessly advocated many principles similar to my own."

Message from Claire Khaw:

I am indeed delighted to support what David Jones supports: the institutions of the marriage and the family, which apparently no political party in the land now dares to support.

Have you seen a single policy in the LibLabCon manifesto that supports marriage?  Or in the UKIP, BNP, English Democrats or the NF for that matter?

UKIP mentioned marriage at their recent Birmingham conference, but, guess what, they only mentioned gay marriage.

YI: Gay Marriage (Birmingham Conservatoire)

So cowed are they by extremist feminism that they no longer dare support marriage.

Is this not a shocking state of affairs?

It would seem that David Jones is the only political activist in the land who is not religious and yet dares to support the institutions of marriage and family.

The family is our only protection from the state.  Perhaps that is why the state is so anxious to dismantle it by desecrating marriage without which the family would break up, children deprived of their fathers and their paternal side of the family.

No wonder so many fatherless children are now behaviourally, socially and educationally challenged.  The longer we allow the state to continue desecrating marriage the worse things will be for you and the next generation.

Protest now against liberal and feminist extremism by voting for and supporting David Jones and protect your family, your liberty and property from the nanny state.

AN ANALYSIS OF THE TRINITY WARD BY-ELECTION, BURNLEY by David Jones

David Jones

Though Autumn by-elections are nothing particularly special, Having been born in Burnley, and this key nationalist battleground being only seven-and-a-half miles from where I live, I was bound to take an interest in this one. The candidate, an old friend of mine (and fellow dry-stone waller) Steve Smith was coveted by both the North-West National Front (who have recruited several Burnley BNP veterans) and the Bradford-based Democratic Nationalists. in the end Steve elected to stand for the National Front because they were higher profile.

The literature took the form of cheap and nasty, badly designed, risograph printed leaflets proclaiming the NF policy of kicking the non-whites out of England, presented in newsletter format called "Burnley Nationalist", The NF put a lot of hours in, and no less five editions out,

As I see it the volume of leaflets, shoved through letterboxes by volunteers from as far as 50 miles away, should have overcome the quality - so we can only presume that it was the the "Stop Immigration - Start Repatriation" message that the voters were rejecting.

The NF must decide if the want to simply ram an unwanted "repatriation" message down the throats of the voters or employ some of the other tools of getting your people elected (better quality literature, demonstrating to voters you are competent at addressing issues that affect them, finding alternative nationalist policies that have a wider appeal etc...) Most voters who want repatriation also want their candidates to be a little more tactful about it, and most nationalist voters are agnostic on repatriation anyway. Showing the voters you have no tact will not work, even if they get twenty leaflets through the letterbox a day from you.

Having spoken to NF members, they are justifying this by saying "the voters are thick", "we were never going to win" etc. Others say, "we've made our stand". Of course it is all deluded nonsense. This year the NF' Deputy Chairman Kevin Bryan obtained respectable votes in nearby-Irwell ward, Rossendale, under the exact same electoral conditions that exist in Burnley, and the BNP have successfully taken the Trinity seat not so long ago.

Maybe the NF were just making a point, but it gives me no pleasure to see Steve Smith join Mark Leat (who got 2 votes in Stoke) and David Child (an Autistic BNP candidate from South London who also who got 26) as the poorest performing nationalists this year, nationalism cannot stand any more damage done and the damage done by this kind of a vote is very real. I'm sure the NF will do better next time but I say again the damage is done.

The fault is not Steve Smiths, while he was interim Chairman of the England First Party, he fought a much better campaign and united practically all the white voters in Burnley's majority Pakistani Ward of Daneshouse with Stoneyholme, we know that Steven is capable of better than this.

At this point I should point out that the BNP campaign for Trinity was not much better, they went from one extreme to the other, while I confess I haven't read their literature I am told it was just the type of shameless, locally-relevant, brand-promotion we are used to in the modern, "caring and compassionate" BNP. Sorry that won't get you your lost votes back either. .

Warm, fuzzy leaflets BNP leaflets promoting the BNP leadership containing nothing at all relevant to Burnley people still pulled in over three times the vote that the NF's much more intensive campaign did though. In my town, which has no history of successful nationalism I obtained a good 8.5% of the vote (253 votes) and believe me I have a lot of lesbians, yuppies and Muslim vote to overcome, plus a tarnished name. I find that is achievable because I;

1. I design quality, aesthetically-appealing literature.

2. Propagate a message that is both hard-hitting and dealing with relevant issues.

3. Have high profile in the town, regularly attend Town Council meetings and locals know who I am.

4. A reputation for sticking with my goals and giving local senior-establishment apparatchiks a headache.24 / 7.

I am fighting a Town Council by-election on October 25th, and it is my intention, as an Independent, to show my former and current friends throughout East Lancashire and the Calder Valley that there is a better way to do things. And if I get 26 votes I will be ready to stand corrected and take it all back.
