My visit to the House of Lords to hear Lord Maginnis speak

Lord Maginnis of Drumglass was educated at The Royal School in Dungannon and at Stranmillis College in Stranmillis in Belfast. He worked as a teacher for a number of years before joining the Ulster Defence Regiment (UDR) in 1971. After leaving the Army with the rank of Major in 1981, he became Ulster Unionist spokesman on internal security and defence, and was that same year elected to Dungannon District Council, on which he sat for twelve years until he lost his seat in 1993. In June 2012, the UUP Whip was withdrawn from Lord Maginnis by party leader Mike Nesbitt over remarks which he made concerning his opposition to same sex marriage. Maginnis subsequently resigned from the UUP on 28 August 2012.

Yesterday, Lord Maginnis spoke on our Presidential system of Government (an unwelcome development with no democratic mandate); also Middle East and Ulster issues; Q&A. Lord Maginnis has a particular interest in Iran and recently attended a conference organised by the National Council of Resistance in Iran.

I am afraid I did not really know what he meant by that since it is easier for a British Prime Minister to start a war than an American President who has to obtain the approval of the both houses of Congress.  

My guess is that he was really complaining about the remoteness of Cameron surrounded by inexperienced advisers whom he regarded as young whipper snappers who have never had a proper job in their lives still wet behind the ears, and it seems he thinks the problem was particularly acute in the Foreign Office. Things were rather different when Thatcher was in power, but at the time, I can imagine that Unionist MPs would naturally get a lot of media attention as well as access to the Prime Minister anxious to do a deal with the Shinners and the Loyalists.  Another question I regretted not asking him was whether he approved of Theresa May's Counter-Terrorism and Security Bill.

The House of Lords is these days is "no longer about governing the country or giving advice" to the Commons any longer, he said, but a place where political cronies of the Lower House are rewarded.

He told us of what George Mitchell, the US Special Envoy for Northern Ireland said when he introduced him to Martin McGuinness (whom Lord Maginnis described as a "very able politician"): 

"Ah, Ken, I must introduce you to Martin over here: you two have the same name and must be related." 

It seems that the two men took rather well to this diplomatic banter, and the rest is history.  

Lord Maginnis is often invited to events in the Irish Republic. I asked, in the context of a United Ireland, if he thought that rule from Dublin would be really that much worse than rule from London and he readily conceded that it was probably not. Indeed, he praised a politician whose name I did not catch for so rigorously and faithfully pursuing its austerity programme.  

He was asked why there are now four Unionist parties in Northern Ireland but said he did not really know the answer and was guessing that it was probably a lack of a sense of purpose.  

On the theme of bad government, he took particular exception to Chris Grayling, the only Lord Chancellor in British history who was not also a lawyer.  He particularly deplored how a Christian JP was disciplined and "re-educated" for daring to express his view that children should only be adopted by  married heterosexual couples rather than gay couples gaily married. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2914951/Suspended-sent-equality-training-Christian-magistrate-said-Adopted-child-needs-mum-dad-not-gay-parents.html

He disapproved of the proposed bill to sack MPs,

Lord Maginnis is now 77 and not tall.  This young man whom Lord Maginnis described as being of about 6 feet claimed to be terrified of a white-haired not very tall 75 year old man with a weak arm and an arthritic shoulder. The incident occurred as a result of Lord Maginnis stopping his car and allowing a woman to cross the road and the young man behind him sounding his horn long and repeatedly, infuriating him so much he got out of his car to confront the driver. 

He told us that he is currently being pursued to pay his fine after his conviction of fare-dodging in Croydon, and says he has extensive documentary evidence to prove that the incident was the result of a genuine misunderstanding and mistake. He will continue to refuse paying the fine which increases if one does not pay it, he tells us, and says he did not receive a fair trial.

Lord Maginnis did indeed speak about the Iranian refugees now being persecuted by Iraq, but whys and wherefores went over my head, I am afraid, as did what he said about Cyprus and Turkey.

I must also say that the mixed nuts in the Strangers' Bar are really the best I have ever had and also noticed that the Lords' division bell was far more tuneful than the Commons' division bell. 

I was tempted to be photographed INSIDE the phone booth, but I am sure I would not have found any accomplices willing to photograph my proposed "crime"!

JIM LEWTHWAITE

Jim Lewithwaite discusses how divided nationalists are - many of them cannot stand being in the same room with each other and won't attend each other's demos.

Talk about putting the cart before the horse: Lewthwaite tells nationalists they haven't got time to find a leader, they need to get a movement together first, apparently.   Talk about getting things back to front.

No leader, no movement. No horse, no means of moving the cart.  But nationalists either can't get it or won't get it.  I think they fear and hate each other so much they actually don't want a charismatic leader.  They prefer pointless activity to effective planning.  So there you go.

Predictably, NOTHING ABOUT FEMINISM or SSMs in Lewthwaite's speech either.

PETER RUSHTON

Peter Rushton talks about Radical Nationalism. What a joke. Just think of these Radical Nationalist Nazi Fascist Extremist Racist "men" too afraid to question the morals of their women who give them mostly bastard children. Radical indeed!

Instead, he jeers at Asians high up in the Tory Party who denigrate the lack of work ethic of the white working classes. How dare these brown people with their family and their traditions and their work ethic who are not mostly sluts and bastards look down upon white people with no work ethic, no family, no traditions who are mostly sluts and bastards!  How very dare they!

Rushton does not mention FEMINISM at all. White people can do no wrong, it seems. They could never be the author of their own misfortunes, not even the ones who let all the immigrants in.

Priti Patel and Kwasi Kwateng were sneered at for their parents' decision to come to Britain rather than go somewhere else where they would not be quite so racially alien.

Dominic Raab is Jewish.

More jeers and sneers from the audience. (And why not, it is after all their all-white all-gentile meeting.)

The reason why there are so many white idlers is because there are so many immigrants in this country, Rushton says.

I would say it is the existence of the welfare state rather than the presence of so many fucking foreigners.

The Welfare State is the Sacred Cow that not even nationalists will blaspheme against, for most nationalists are white working class and we all know how the white "working" classes need and want their welfare state ie in the way a junkie thinks he needs his next fix.

Rushton then goes on to discuss the pointless wars fought - he hints - for the benefit of the Israelis.

The so-called Tory Right was not even properly Conservative, he says. It is a kind of perversion of Gladstonian Liberalism.

That was the most interesting part of his speech.

The Three Pillars of Gladstonian Liberalism:

1. Individual liberty is the highest aim of any civilised society
2. Economic Freedom was a self-evident good
3. High Church ideals of morality should regulate relations between nations. Foreign policy must follow these teachings when dealing with foreign nations instead of being determined by the National Interest.

These have now become the nostrums of Modern Conservatism and New Labour - the Fetish of Freedom.

Was there ever a bigger fraud on the British people than to say to them that the British political system would give to them FREEDOM, he asks.

[Sardonic laughter from the audience.]

We have the freedom to buy stuff and the freedom to get ourselves into debt. We now have a SPIVOCRACY of spivocrats.

Grant Shapps, Jewish millionaire and now Chairman of the Conservative Partym said to have fraudulent get-rich quick internet schemes, is the Greatest Spivocrat of all.

Shapps was not even a subtle spivocrat and for he was caught doctoring his Wikipedia entries, apparently.

[My settled view is that Jews and Muslims (or any group of people who respect the institution of marriage) will find themselves effortlessly superior when competing with another group of people who are mostly sluts and bastards, as the gentile white European mostly is these days after so many decades of degenerate feminism.  I continue to find it astounding and bemusing to encounter the hostility I continue to get from these degenerate people merely for pointing this out.   I had imagined ethno-nationalists who are nominally interested in breeding at some level would be interested in discussing eugenics and policies of preventing degeneracy, but not a bit of it.   With the noble exception of Simon Sheppard, they all seem neurotically fearful of discussing feminism.  It is like a taboo for both the liberal elite and the despised racialist in Britain.   They absolutely will not discuss it at all.   It was only when I realised this that I knew that the entire nation was rotten with feminism - its most sacred of all its sacred cows.]

Just for pointing this out again and again in my blogs, I have been banned from every single nationalist party in the land on trumped up charges and spurious accusations.

Anyway, Rushton continues his talk.

1948 was the time when the multi-racial society was being created.

Commander Fountain a Conservative was PPC for Chorley in 1947.

He was very rude about the Labour Party and was was denounced as an antisemitic racist with a violent disposition. A case of projection, Rushton suggests.

Rushton goes on to denounce Martin McGuinness and dares him to sue.

White people do have something to be guilty about though, for allowing themselves to be drawn into WW2 - not just for the war but how the war was conducted ie Dresden.

Rushton warns against believing what the tabloids say, especially when they blame mosques or Muslims. The cause of British malaise is the treason of our elites!

DAVE JONES

Dave Jones starts by mentioning Rochdale whom he calls the threat from without.

He wants to destroy the threat from within - which he identifies as the liberal intelligentsia, the organised gay lobby (who are all white), the charities with their PC aims promoting multiculturalism who have now descended upon Tod.

Todmorden must not become like Rochdale in 10 years' time.

Dave managed to get 25% of the vote in a two-horse race against the LibDem candidate in the councillor election on 25 October 2012.

The Morality of War, Revolution and Terrorism is Conditional and Contingent

War is violence committed by one state against another. Revolution or terrorism can be violence committed by a group against a state or innocent civilians. As there can be just wars, so can there be 'just terrorism'. Terrorists (or violent revolutionaries) only become freedom fighters and statesmen if they are successful in their terrorism eg Nelson Mandela, Gerry Adams, Martin McGuinness. Good government entails the prevention of grievances that cause acts of terrorism to be committed, and bad governments deserve to be overthrown.

Do the ends justify the means?  We can only wait and see.
