How Jordan Peterson could have defended patriarchy

First question to Jordan Peterson:

What is the last rule that would go if you all the other eleven had to go?

His answer was that he would have the rule that one is to take personal responsibility, which is a synthesis of the 12 rules.

Sutcliffe says Peterson doesn't believe patriarchy exists, and Peterson did not demur. 

I would have said patriarchy exists as a concept, and that the West is certainly not a patriarchy, but rather a matriarchy. 

A lost opportunity.

When the feminist Irishwoman says patriarchy exists because there is domestic violence and complains that not enough men are convicted for domestic violence, Peterson should have pointed out that patriarchy is primarily about whether society practises marriage, not whether men perpetrate violence on women. There will be more serial killers and rapists of women in a matriarchy, though in a patriarchy where most women are married, the preponderance of violence suffered by women would come from their husband for logistical reasons, as you would expect.


Sutcliffe queries the subtitle of his book THE ANTIDOTE TO CHAOS and asks why not THE MIDDLE WAY subtly suggesting that Peterson is an extremist. 

My answer:

"You are presuming to tell me how to title my book, presumably because you have been instructed to suggest that I am an extremist. So how am I an extremist?"

Sutcliffe goes on to accuse Peterson of "gendering" order and chaos. Why should they be gendered at all, Sutcliffe asks.

"Because feminism has gone too far and we now live in a matriarchy, which is chaotic," I would have said. 

He instead talks about Mother Nature being destructive and plenipotential and says order is patriarchal. 

Sutcliffe immediately says: " I thought you didn't believe in the patriarchy!"

Peterson says "Patriarchy in one sense has become synonymous with arbitrary tyranny and oppression and I don't regard our culture as being arbitrarily tyrannical and oppressive, and I don't believe in the narrative that pits women against men or men against women as the core narrative of our culture which is absurd."

Sutcliffe also asks Peterson why he thinks consciousness is masculine. 

Peterson says it is symbolic. 

Sutcliffe quotes from Peterson:

"It is certain that a woman needs consciousness to be rescued and as noted above, consciousness is symbolically masculine and has been since the beginning of time."

He points out to Peterson "But consciousness is an intellectual concept. It doesn't have a gender." 

Peterson: "Consciousness isn't an intellectual concept, it is a phenomenon." 

Sutcliffe: "It is a thing in the world."

Peterson: "The conceptualisation of it is an intellectual construct." 

Sutcliffe: "In what sense is it masculine?"

Peterson: "It is masculine symbolically. It is a core element of fundamental mythology. It has been a principle of metaphorical cognition forever. It is not an arbitrary decision by any stretch of the imagination." 

Sutcliffe: "It is an inherited decision, but I am curious about the way you treat some cultures. You write:

'We learn to live together and organise our complex societies slowly and incrementally over vast stretches of time and we do not understand with sufficient exactitude why what we are doing works.'

It seems to me that begs a very large question, which is: works for whom? A lot of people think it doesn't work, which is why social change is about. That's why societies and civilisations alter over time. Works for whom?"

Peterson: "It might be better to ask 'Works compared to what?' There's a handful of society in the world - perhaps 30 or 40 - that are functioning at a pretty high level. Those are the countries that everyone wants to immigrate to. There's inequality within those cultures, but you can't lay that at the feet of those cultures. Inequality is a much deeper problem than what you can lay at the feet of a political or economic system, so works by historical standards including works for the past 150 years." 

Sutcliffe: "I assume you agree with female suffrage and that women should have a vote." 

Peterson: "Sure." [Not a word about narrowing the franchise to taxpayers only if he is too frightened to go the whole hog of saying that female suffrage was probably a terrible mistake.]

Sutcliffe: "120 years ago, that would have been a radical and disruptive idea to have. People would have advanced exactly the same arguments you advanced about inherited social traditions, about the way things have been done. Scientists would have advanced information, a phrenologist would have come along and said 'Women's bump of electoral selection is smaller than men ... "

Instead of going down this blind alley, Peterson should just have said

"Men are more rational than women on the whole, and have a more developed sense of justice as well as being generally more forgiving" 

and invited them to disprove it. He probably would have enjoyed a scene of the feminist Irishwoman having a fit of the vapours with Tom Sutcliffe running off to fetch her smelling salts. 

Sutcliffe then suggests he is trying to incite fascism by saying that the more society feminises men, the more likely they are to embrace fascist ideologies.

Peterson says that is obviously true. 

Sutcliffe calls it a classic abuser's exculpation. It is a withdrawal from responsibility: you made me hit you.

Peterson: "It is not a justification, it is an observation of what's likely to happen if you push people too far in a particular direction. It is a warning, not a justification."

Sutcliffe: "The solution to that is not to worry about feminising men, but to worry about them joining fascist organisations."



Peterson: "No, I think it is to worry that steep unequal hierarchies will produce desperate young men and that is a critique of hierarchy, by the way."

My answer would have been: 

"It is about social justice, gender justice and a warning that if enough people get angry enough about the unfairness of the rules, they will want to change them. Allow them the means to change them peacefully, or they will use violence."

Simon Sheppard says our justice system is now feminine and men should now be very very afraid

How women are now in the key positions of state. Few women have a developed sense of justice, even those in the legal profession.

Theresa May is our female Prime Minister, Amber Rudd is our female Home Secretary, Alison Saunders is our female Director of Public Prosecutions, Chantal Aimee Doerries is Madam Chairman of the Bar Council

Middle class men are too afraid to challenge feminism because they are afraid of being accused of a historic sexual offence or of their wives divorcing them and then taking half their stuff and depriving them of their children.

Philip Davies MP who used to make a stand against feminism is now too cucked and afraid to challenge feminism. Can anyone tell me when it was he last made an anti-feminist comment? You can be sure that the feminazi MPs have put the frighteners on him. He also knows that there is no such thing as male solidarity amongst male Tory MPs so if the feminazis get him, there will no masculine call to rally to his aid. Atomised Western men are invariably atheist, unprincipled and cannot think beyond the next election or sexual encounter.

Roger Scruton, Conservative philosopher, is now so old and doddery that he must know that his wife will soon be his nurse so he will understandably refrain from criticising feminism for the sake of domestic harmony. He has already told me his views on feminism is exactly that of Christina Hoff Sommers', no more and no less. (It is a bit like an anti-Semite saying exactly 6 million Jews died in the Holocaust, no more and no less, wouldn't you say?) He also has a son to put through Eton, that school for unprincipled public school cucks. Don't expect him to risk any of that on your behalf, O Oppressed Men of the Matriarchy! Old men lose their testosterone and become old women, afraid to say too much in case their teeth fall out, or if saying anything should make their nurse angry at them and treat them roughly.

Isn't it a delicious irony that I, a female and a foreigner, should presume to care more about oppressed white men oppressed by feminism who are not my father, husband nor son? It must be because I am that rare female with a sense of justice, I suppose. It is probably because I was not born here and had part of my education abroad that made me retain some kind of decency, principle and fighting spirit, for which I only have my parents to thank. I like to think of myself as the little Dutch boy with his finger in the dyke, doing it only because there is no one else around to do it.

Most Semites are not Jews and most Jews are not Semites. Many say the Ashkenazi Jews are not Semitic.
What would you call antisemitism?

Simon Sheppard:

Why not just say "anti-Jew"?
Because it is a feature of Christianity to be antisemitic. This hatred was not racial just but also ideological.

Arabs who were Muslims were also a Semitic people. Both Jews and Muslims deny the Trinity. The Catholic Church forced Jews and Muslims to convert to Christianity and the Inquisition tortured them to see if they genuinely believed in Christ's divinity.

Simon Sheppard:

Jews invented the obfuscatory term "antisemitic" quite recently because they hate being identified as Jews. Part of their MO is to disguise themselves.
Surely when Jews accuse you of antisemitism, they break their cover? [Awaiting answer.]

This is Simon Sheppard. Claire Khaw has asked me to record the answers to her questions. She has raised some interesting topics. Her first question is:




(1) How would you like to be introduced?

I'd really like to be known as a scientist. This is certainly what I am at the moment. I discovered a while ago that I have 116 citations, most of those of a paper I published in 1994, so I'm certainly qualified as one. Even 20 or 25 citations is considered very respectable.

(2) What would you most like me to ask you about?

What I'd most like to talk about is my work. However, it's too early to go public with it, and the information could be commercially valuable. It's a stressful time for me, because though things look promising, everything is still in the air. Contributing to the stress, there's possible fame or fortune. Most times you get one or the other, if you're really lucky you get both, in the worst case you get neither. So I'm keeping things close to my chest as long as possible.

(3) Do you regret becoming involved in politics?

This is a deep question, because it actually amounts to an age-old philosophical issue. Given two choices, which would you rather have? Either you can be happy and deluded, and go through life in blissful ignorance. Or you can know the truth, which makes you unhappy. I decided long ago that it was better to know the truth, however unpleasant, because that allows the problems causing the unhappiness to be solved. The first step to solving problems is to see the problem clearly.


(4) What is wrong with the British?

This is a bit of a daft question I think. The short answer is that there is nothing much wrong with the British: we are being exploited for our virtues. British people are normally civilised, polite and trusting. The Australian Andrew Fraser discussed white people's trusting nature in some book or other. It evolved to enable cooperation between people who are not directly related to each other. IIRC, he quotes the example of a village needing a new church bell. Such a thing is bought rarely, so there is little prospect of future cooperation between the church elders and the foundry, which is many miles away. Yet the vast majority of such arrangements succeed. Other cultures only trust members of their own kin group, which is one reason they favour marriages between cousins. The truth is that our good nature is being exploited, particularly by organised Jewry.

(5) How could feminism have been prevented and patriarchy maintained?

That's easy. If our forebears had followed traditional wisdom and prevented Jewish infiltration. Feminism is a Jewish creation.

This is a good point to describe the standard Jewish M.O., their modus operandi. These aren't my original thoughts: this came up in a review of Solzhenitzin's book Two Hundred Years Together. The Jews did the same thing in Russia as they are doing here. Jews portray their own racial agenda as moral imperatives which Gentiles ought to follow. Thus the things the Jews want us to do are portrayed as virtuous, and things which they think will threaten them (such as white solidarity, or nationalism) are portrayed as sinful.

Follow up question:

Are you saying that but for Jews feminism would never have come into existence?

Simon Sheppard:

Yes, absolutely. The wacky ideas of American Jewish women were treated uncritically and promoted by Jews in the British media. The Jewish women were mostly complaining about their treatment by Jewish men, but they generalised it, as Jews do, as if Gentiles were treating their women the same way. Jewish men routinely pray "Thank God I was not born a woman.
Surely many gentiles were also Male Chauvinist Pigs? [Awaiting answer.]

(6) Was God invented by Man to protect himself from Woman?

Now this is another rather daft question, but one that touches on some interesting matters.

First of all, it would be extremely arrogant of me to say that God is an invention. I'm not omniscient and any opinion I might have on the matter is worthless. I'm certainly not qualified to make an assertion.

There is a theory that God is a projection by man, that God is like an idealized man, a sort of alter ego. My attitude to religion was covered in my article 'A Giddy Tour of Metapolitics' which is online on the Heretical site. From an evolutionary perspective, religion is like a sort of cultural carrier bag preserving and reinforcing socially advantageous traits. For example, two socially advantageous policies contained in Christianity are the subordination of women and forgiveness.

(7) Do you have a favourite philosopher?

Not really. I'm thinking of Revilo P. Oliver but I'm not sure he counts as a philosopher.

(8) Are you prepared to talk about your childhood?

I don't have a problem talking about my childhood, only wonder if it's really relevant. I suppose I should be flattered that people are interested. My father left when I was 3, likely driven out, and I was brought up to hate my father by a bitter and mentally unstable mother. Later she married a Chinaman who couldn't speak English, and I have four half-Chinese brothers and sisters. It was peculiar when I started noticing certain trends in Amsterdam, it felt like I had come full circle, seeing the same things I experienced in my childhood. My mother eventually killed herself. Obviously there's a lot more to tell. I've had quite a traumatic life.


(9) Are Jews white people?

I would say definitely not. They are Asiatic I think. A Jewish defence witness at my trial for the Tales of the Holohoax made an interesting observation: that, say, a Lebanese Jew looks much more like other Lebanese than he resembles a British Jew. I would say this is similar to the cuckoo. The cuckoo adapts the colouring of its eggs to particular bird species. Ultimately it all comes down to behaviour. I can often tell when a piece of music or a book has been written by a Jew. I'm sure others can too.

This is how it works with matters of race, and I think this is an important process to understand. Suppose you have one black, or Jew or whatever, among a dozen whites. This could be in the workplace, school or wherever. Then there'll be little or no perceivable difference between the behaviour of the non-white and the whites, because essentially they are imitating. Non-whites and women are imitators. Later on, and for various reasons it will always be the case, there will be a larger number of non-whites, a higher proportion of them. Then with their increased number they will revert to kind. If you want to see how their kind behaves you only have to look at their home countries.

(10) How would you feel if you discovered your mother was a Jewess, as Peter Hitchens did?

I didn't know about that, maybe it was a shock! I don't think it would affect me that much, although how I'd have rationalised it say 5 years down the line I don't know. It wouldn't change the truth of what I know. In any case, there are a few Jews who are scathing of Jewish behaviour themselves.

Follow up questions I have put to Simon:

How would you have rationalised it away five years ago? What is the significance of five years ago?

Simon Sheppard:

No, I mean that I don't know how I'd have rationalised it to myself five
years down the line i.e. five years after the discovery.
What is this "Jewish behaviour" you say some Jews wish to escape from?

Simon Sheppard:

I'm only talking about Jews who are critical of Jewish behaviour e.g.Gerhardt Menhuin, that London jazz musician, Israel Shahak. The debate is more open in Israel.
(11) Is Christianity inherently antisemitic?

This is one way the church has betrayed us. The whole purpose of the church is to provide a bedrock of stable morality and cultural tradition. That cultural carrier bag again. If you look at John Chapter 8, Jesus himself tells the Jews "Ye are of your father the devil," there is no ambiguity or doubt that he's addressing the Jews. I suspect this is where the phrase "Spawn of Satan" came from. The churches all seem to be singing from the Jews' hymn sheet. It's very sad.

Sheppard's current research is medical and involves a compound that is applied to the skin. It was going very well until he was arrested on suspicion of making racially aggravated complaints about an African the Council has moved in nearby. Seeing his equipment and materials, he was re-arrested under the Terrorism Act 2000. There is video somewhere of his area flooded with blue lights, while Sheppard was held under 24-hour watch. His computers have been taken away again.

Liberals snobbishly think it beneath them to admit to being affected by the same things that adversely affect the indigenous proletariat.  I have concluded that the problem is really social snobbery and the operation of the English class system. The oft-repeated accusation of Jews feeding gentiles the poison of liberalism is repeated here. Let me make it clear that while I have the greatest respect for the religion of God's Chosen People, I do not see that they should escape criticism and mockery from gentiles altogether.

There are some who blame Jews for feminism and use as authority for this proposition that prominent feminists are Jewesses, but I question this. Clever people are invariably attracted to politics and Jews being a superior race (because they have kept their traditions by caring whom they marry unlike the modern and degenerate gentile who no longer practises marriage) are a clever, tenacious and cohesive people who have risen to prominence because they are superior in talent and culture. What does not kill you makes you stronger, after all. Judaism is for Jews only, because it is so high maintenance that no gentile wants to be burdened by its practice unless s/he is lucky enough to find a Jew prepared to marry him or her and because of this have to convert.

If Islam is "Judaism Lite", then Secular Koranism is "Islam Lite". Both Judaism and Islam require from its adherents observance and practice of their traditions while Christianity only requires that Christians tell the lie that they believe in the absurdity of the Trinity, namely that they believe that Christ is simultaneously God Himself and His Son.

In our age of universal education, requiring belief in the Trinity as an article of Christian faith is now too much to ask, which is why the demand is no longer made.

Congregations are made to repeat the Nicene creed uncomprehendingly at church services, and this will have to do as lip service to the creed. Christian fundamentalists understand the nature of this corrupt bargain but cultural Christians do not, because this demand was never made of them, and few people who call themselves Christians were actually confirmed in adolescence.

For this reason, Christian principles have been progressively diluted and this explains why Christianity is now indistinguishable from liberalism. Christianity has failed Westerners, because they are now infected by the virus of feminism which will destroy even their desire to be cured from it.

They are suffering from a kind of dementia, it seems, so debilitating that most of the alt-right seem to be of the mind that they do not want a leader, and refuse to discuss this any further. They do not want a leader because they wish to escape the trouble and inconvenience of being led, because being led implies an arduous journey that they do not wish to embark upon, for they are desirous of staying at home in order to make their alt-right YouTube videos complaining about Jews, Muslims and immigration without ever lifting a finger to propose a practical political solution. Most of their videos consist of a daydream of a post-pogrom all-white West some indefinite time in the future. They do not want a leader because they do not wish to experience again the disappointment of being betrayed by their inadequate and dishonourable leaders, and they have all been inadequate and dishonourable.

The sad fact is that Western Man is now so emasculated by feminism that he now behaves like a woman.

Men often complain about women who tell them their problems and who become offended when a practical solution is offered. In reality, all the complaining woman wanted was your attention, your sympathy and your shoulder to cry on. She does not really want to leave her husband, break up with her boyfriend or change her job, because complaining about it with your attentive sympathy is enough to stop her from doing any of those things, for now.

The alt-right have become the woman who is offended because you have presented them with the solution that they do not wish to go to the trouble of implementing.

As Livy said, "We can neither bear our vices, or the cure for them."

The cure is patriarchy reinforced by a one party theocracy governed by the principles of Secular Koranism, and this none of them can bear to hear, because it means they have to reconsecrate marriage and punish extramarital sex.

Even in a patriarchy married sex is the most expensive form of sex, and most of these men know they are poor and unmarriageable. The prospect of fornicating with a fornicatress is the opium of what passes for their "religion". The idea of getting sex from a prostitute is probably too uncomfortable and expensive for them.

I am not so out of touch that I do not know why they detest my cure. Indeed, I have been told that my cure is worse than the disease, as Livy hinted.

All this has happened before, and it will happen again. The Chinese even have a term for it: Yin and Yang which explains the eternal battle of the sexes.

Western Man's cultural practice of mass murdering Muslims abroad and complaining about Muslim immigration and terrorism at home


This video only complains about Muslims and their propensity to terrorism, without once considering the role of UK foreign policy in provoking Muslim terrorism. So much easier to point to Muslims who are visibly different than to trouble one's pretty head about bad UK foreign policy, is it not? Demanding the mass expulsion of Muslims and the banning of Islam in the West is a much more attractive option than wondering where UK foreign policy might have gone wrong over the past century.

Why does this deep-seated and long-standing problem remain addressed? Because politicians are not capable of planning beyond the next election.

How should it be addressed? My proposals to abolish multi-party democracy, abolish the welfare state, repeal pro-feminist legislation and impose a one-party Secular Koranist theocracy capable of promoting social conservatism and the long term national interest will be unlikely to get any publicity from the corrupt liberal media more in the business of suppressing news than reporting it.

Probably, Omar Mateen wanted to be like Gavrilo Princip, the world's most successful terrorist

The lowest status mass murderer would be to have been a gunman who "went postal" after he was sacked from his job.

The highest status mass murderer would to have been a terrorist who murdered significant numbers of men declared to be the enemies of his organisation, causing a worldwide outcry.

If you were an ambitious terrorist you would want to be as successful as the World War causing Gavrilo Princip. His act of terrorism led to the destruction of the Austrian Empire.

Now, which would you choose if you were a rational mass murderer who wanted maximum publicity post mortem?

He must have a great lust for power to attain such a position and it is not surprising that once installed he wishes to “flex his muscles” and exercise some real power. However his options for doing so at home are limited. His masculine instinct to dominate and subdue may be exercised far away instead.

It may be said (with justification, but which is beyond the scope of this article) that the stated reason for embarking on war is nearly always a pretext. The ‘trigger event’ can be manipulated for this purpose, or a random spark may ignite an entirely unrelated charge.
