The state would have been wiser to make civil partnerships obligatory for all couples, heterosexual or same-sex. After that, people could celebrate marriage ceremonies in synagogues, churches or elsewhere as they saw fit, without giving these any legal force or involving a re-definition of “marriage”.

It is disingenuous for Jews to claim that the novel same-sex unions have any halachic foundations or that they are in any way related to Judaism. When movements do what is expedient for their membership rather than maintain any relation with halachah, it creates a clear fault-line in the Jewish world. The rush to follow society’s current mores severs the links a Jew has to the Torah, the ultimate source of morality. This wholesale demolition fails the faith of our ancestors, defying justification.

That so many Jewish leaders feel that adopting gay marriage is supremely Jewish says more about how far they have strayed than how true they are to their own traditions. Why not just say no? Is “no” really only kosher if you are Orthodox?

Attempts to bring Orthodoxy to work with the other movements, over issues such as conversion, now appear utter folly. Until recently, some might have turned a blind eye, arguing that different streams did not hold totally antithetical approaches and had much in common. But same-sex marriage is a “kosher pork” moment. With this latest extreme departure, Orthodoxy and the rest of the Jewish world stand on either side of a gulf, which can only become wider.

I was a little take aback to have been reported.  The Rabbi Zvi Solomons of Reading is normally quite indulgent with me, bless his cotton socks.  It may have been his wife who reported me, I suppose.  Perhaps she is "from Minsk" too.

A rabbi understands free speech, while the Atheist Humanist Society do not

I am not sure what exactly happened at the Freshers' Fair at Reading University, but I think the Rabbi must have pointed out that the RAHS naming their pineapple Mohammed would be offensive to Muslim ears, and possibly racist.  Perhaps he objected to the deliberate and habitual mockery of religion and religious people by atheists in the name of free speech.

The Rabbi then added me to their Facebook group but I was soon banned from it after the administrators of that group found my comments objectionable.

I used to joke that I was a Denier of Holocaust Denial and ask "What number is Holocaust Denial?", but it may just be easier to call myself a Holocaust Agnostic.

Doubtless the fact that I have been very public about being photographed beside David Irving's when I have attended his very entertaining talks have given the impression that I am a Holocaust Denier, but I only want to hear the other side, or, as lawyers like to say, audi alterem partem.

Most of the Far Right dislike me intensely for saying that, because Jews and Muslims follow their religion and  respect the institution of marriage, they easily do better than so-called Cultural Christians who do not practise their religion.  The white indigenous gentile no longer practise Christian family values because they are given no moral guidance by the Anglican Church, which is mainly staffed by priests who think the Church is only there to give them a living while they are paid to propagate liberalism, sexual liberation, feminism and homosexuality, the very things that the Bible and Koran forbid.

There is no Jewish or Muslim conspiracy, I tell them.  Just by practising family values and respecting the institutions of marriage and family Jews and Muslims will appear effortlessly superior to the so-called Cultural Christians who ignore everything they dislike in the Bible in their liberal conceit, if it does not accord with their Marxist leanings of feminism and free love.

Surely it is not up to Jews to tell Christians to practise family values if their Archbishop of Canterbury is such a Commie Pinko that he is OK with gay marriage?

If these so-called Christians are feeling threatened by the Muslim birth-rate, surely it is up to them to tell their women to get married younger, stay married longer and bring up what children they have properly?  (Do you hear any of these Muslim-hating parties saying anything of this nature?  Does the BNP?  Does the NF?  Of course not.  Most of their members are hardly eligible bachelors or respectable married men.)  Do they really expect Muslims to have fewer babies so these Liberal "Christians" can catch up with them?

Or perhaps they expect Muslims to "integrate" by allowing their women to be never married mothers too and join them in their illegitimacy and degeneracy? This is of course now the majority white British way of mothering and parenting, which perfectly explains our vicious circle of ever lowering standards of behaviour and educational standards.  I therefore quite understand why Muslims would not wish to integrate into Fatso, Dipso, Bingo, ASBO, Tesco culture, and it would just be unfair to blame them.

It is hugely ironic that a rabbi can show more understanding for free speech than typical British university students who claim to be promoting free speech.

The Rabbi and I are both of the view that Holocaust Denial laws are bad for Jews and should be repealed.   In my opinion, they are bad for Jews because they make gentiles think there is a Jewish conspiracy.

"I agree [with you] on Holocaust Denial - it doesn't really help - it's just like the pineapple thing. I understand why people dislike HD but why bother banning it - it's ludicrous ipso facto so why bother."

2. When they expressed reluctance to do so, I suggested to them that they were happier to mock Muslims than they are to mock Jews.  
3. They could get their Art Department to create a Reading University Free Speech Pineapple.
4. They could name their Free Speech Pineapple an offensive name every week and invite people to explain why they were offended, and mock them some more.

I was then banned from the group.  Ironic, eh?   Even people who claim vociferously to promote free speech just don't get it.  I would be quite happy to go over to Reading to explain things to them though if they pay my fare and buy me a nice dinner.

What on earth is the world coming to, when people who claim to be promoting free speech have no idea of the PRINCIPLE of free speech?

Reform needs to take account of the failure to protect those who have only a religious marriage without registering civilly. Gay marriage: right or wrong? It's a simple, straightforward question. So Let me be absolutely clear in my opinion. I want to state, categorically, leaving no room for doubt, that I'm unambiguously sitting on the fence on this one. 

You didn't really think I was going be foolish enough to give a simple, straightforward answer did you? Lord Singh might do that, but I'm a professor and far too clever to fall for that one.

In Islam, marriage is a civil contract between consenting adults. It's not a sacrament. So, on this important and controversial topic, we fully intend to firmly keep our heads down and wait for it all to blow over. Let some other religion be called homophobic for a change.

I will just say enough about marriage being about, love, commitment, intimacy and life long partnership, to make it sound as if my liberal credentials allow for gay marriage. On the other hand, I'll sympathise with those of any particular religion who don't have my enlightened views. 

This is what Thought For The Day is all about: saying, on the one hand, and then on the other hand, dropping hints in both directions and keeping one's own opinion safely to oneself.

It is obvious that all the Abrahamic faiths remain incorrigibly homophobic.  Liberals tell us it is sinful to be homophobic while adherents of the Abrahamic faiths who read and understand their scripture as well as practice their religion would have to acknowledge that it is the practice of sodomy that is sinful.

Who is right?

As I am an atheist, I would like to resolve this impartially.

Kant has this idea of the unversalisability.  If something is OK if everyone else does it, then it is OK, eg being polite, honest and refraining from killing people for fun.

If something is not OK if everybody does it, then it is immoral.   If everyone had extramarital sex then there would be widespread family breakdown and children with terrible childhoods of physical and sexual abuse, which his what we have now.  If everyone were gay, then there wouldn't be much of a next generation to speak of, since, no matter how pleasurable, all homosexual couplings are sterile.

They can now adopt, of course, but not that many of them want to, and it is doubtful that they are really the best people to parent children.

The term homophobia, suggesting that those who hate and fear homosexuals are irrational and neurotic, is really a bit of a propaganda trick.  It is the widespread tolerance of extramarital sex - which includes homo sex - that has led to the proposal by the supposedly socially conservative Conservative Party to think it politically and morally acceptable to promote gay marriage.

Gay marriage, I would suggest, is analogous to the dead canary of a coal miner.  The dead canary will not cause the miner to die, but it augurs ill for the miner if he does not change direction.

Too bad then that none of the religious leaders of any of the Abrahamic faiths have the courage of their convictions to denounce this proposal of Cameron's , because they are too anxious to fit with the current political orthodoxy.

What is the current political orthodoxy?  Atheist feminist extremist PC liberalism that goes against Nature and Reason.   Indeed, it delights in flouting EVERYTHING that the Abrahamic faiths say, because it thinks it can, without fear of the consequences, so heedless are they and arrogant. They think the fact that they are white and liberal alone is enough to protect from the consequences of their actions.

I was somewhat confused because people are very upset, particularly religious people about allowing same sex marriages and I think it would be much better if everyone got hitched, as it were, using civil partnerships and allowed the religions to decide for each religious group who is actually getting married because that would avoid some of the controversy over this particular issue.

Yes, originally marriage was under religious auspices and it was only I think in the 19th century that it became a state matter and that's why one looks in the books of Registers of Marriage in churches going back hundreds of years ago, if your doing genealogical research.

Basically, Rabbi Solomons is saying that both same-sex and heterosexual couples should be civilly partnered and their civil partnership converted into marriage subsequently by a religious ceremony.

However, making the civil partnership the default option for everyone would be tantamount to making EVERYONE do the GAY THING.  After all, the civil partnership was once FOR GAY PEOPLE ONLY.

Let us hope that this is not the thin end of the wedge leading to the practice compulsory sodomy by all couples, including heterosexual couples at all times, that will lead inevitably to the extinction of the human race.

would be the words my detractors wish me to utter in public, stamping my feet as I tear at my hair, rend my garments and gnash my teeth before the ground swallowed me up, as it did Rumpeltstiltskin ...

I therefore dedicate this little thought-present to them.

But how do I feel, how do I really really feel?

Well, I  had thought it was too good to be true that I would be really be the BNP mayoral candidate, but everyone was being so encouraging that I had thought it would be within my grasp.

I was not however prepared to stop saying what I feel to be the truth and to express what I felt were rational views - or even put that on hold for a few months - in order to avoid this glittering prize being snatched from my eager grasp.

I do not mind making that sacrifice and demonstrating the high cost of free speech in Britain these days, because it is a very important point to make.

We know who is in power by whom we are not allowed to offend, and those whom we are not allowed to offend are women who make poor reproductive choices, and whose existence become a burden to themselves and taxpayers.

Carlos makes no such statements of course.  He knows that the leadership of the British National Party would not dream of criticising the behaviour of its own members, only the behaviour of liberals and the immigrants who enter this country in great numbers to take the bread out of their mouths at the invitation of the liberals.

Whatever is wrong with this country, it is all the fault of foreigners and liberals, never the white working classes who buy into the sex and shopping pub culture and drug culture of a consumer society - because they know no other, these white working classes who live for physical pleasures before they die, without the promise of an afterlife.

Of course the white working classes cannot compete against these foreigners, for the liberal political establishment discourages all the things that would enable the white working classes to become respectable and fit for purpose, such as a good education and the moral guidance afforded by a religion that would promote family life, unlike the current state religion that is the degenerate Anglican Church - infested by liberals and infected by feminism.

That is why the British have no culture to speak of these days - unless you can call drugs and sex and rock and roll a 'culture'.  If it is a culture, it is the culture of the primitive hedonism, or what animals would do if they could live like us.

How sad then that the white working classes have no one who will advise and warn them.  They have been abandoned first by the liberal establishment and now by their own party that purports to promote their interests.

I like to think that if I had very bad breath or if my bum really did look very large in the micro-mini skirt that I am too ugly, old and fat to wear, someone would point this out to me, either gently or brutally, but, no, the white working classes do not even have the benefit of  close family or friends, no one who will advise and warn them, because they are frankly beyond all help and hope, and are now only fit to be exploited by all and sundry, even by their own political party claiming to represent their interests.

How do I feel then about another foreigner getting the job?

I like to think I can retain my objectivity, though doubtless many would accuse me of having it in for Carlos now.

There is nothing wrong with a foreigner doing the same job a local can do, provided he can do it as well or better.

Oddly, none of the other white male applicants was formally interviewed, and the Organisers were only given the option of rejecting Carlos, and Carlos had been on the selection panel from the beginning in any case.

I am already known for being the victim of a BNP single mum with disabled children who got the Chairman to expel me from the party by kicking up a fuss when I pointed out to her that eugenics had always been discreetly practised before the welfare state and asked her why it was not her fault when she became a single mum after she was impregnated by a violent criminal who was not her husband. I am also known for challenging the likes of Ed West (whom I believe may have sired illegitimate children and is refusing to marry their mother),  Norman Wells of Family Youth Concern who persist in calling a spade a spatula and who tells me that his organisation is not in the business of bashing single mums.  (If it is not in the business of bashing single mums and feel thoroughly ashamed of themselves, then what the hell is his organisation for?  He could not answer, nor would he tell me what he thought was the preventing his organisation from being more successful because he would have had to use the dreaded F word - FEMINISM.)

Most important and egregious of all are those in the Tory Party such as Theresa Twat May and Cunt Cameron who have betrayed the principles of Conservatism and encouraged, as long ago as 2002, slut single mothers to breed at taxpayers' expense.

My sacrifice is already known. I refuse to cower before the worst of women and the worst of people. So all I have to do now is challenge them into having a public debate. We can only wait and pray and see.   It was after all the Muslim community - the ones who had all the shops to loot - who suffered the most.  Whites are now as scummy mummily single-parented as blacks, these days, and that was really the point that David Starkey was trying to make.  Three of their brave young men got mown down by CHAV bastard scum the spawn of slut single mums.   Will they at least challenge feminism?  After all, they now live here and ought to care what happens to this society, if only out of self-interest.
