THE VOICE OF REASON
Solon, (born c. 630 BCE—died c. 560 BCE), Athenian statesman, known as one of the Seven Wise Men of Greece (the others were Chilon of Sparta, Thales of Miletus, Bias of Priene, Cleobulus of Lindos, Pittacus of Mytilene, and Periander of Corinth). Solon ended exclusive aristocratic control of the government, substituted a system of control by the wealthy, and introduced a new and more humane law code. He was also a noted poet.

When I ask listeners to imagine Dennis and I on a tropical island and how we would get on as two people forced to live together without being quite sure if the other is friend or foe and not quite wanting to murder each other in case the other should prove useful in some way, later.
why everyone - left, right and centre - wanting a one party state would actually be a good thing
The alt-right should be an unofficial think tank and a debating society for the nation, to whom the Deep State listens with due deference.
I explain how White Men must submit themselves to their leader, their first alt-right President, Trump. They should write him letters dedicating their lives to him and promising him their loyalty so he is emboldened enough to do what he needs to do: impose a one-party theocracy governed by the principles of Secular Koranism! http://thevoiceofreason-ann.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05/secular-koranism.html
Once he does this, the rest of the world will follow suit, and, who knows, China, Russia, Iran and Israel!
Jews get it that they are the unfaithful wife to their long-suffering husband ie God who is stuck with her because He created Jews and chose them to be His Chosen People.
I mention what Preston Wiginton said to me in our conversation:
17:02 Preston Wiginton:
It's hard to find labor in America you know in order to do business and I do business with a lot of businesses and that's our number one complaint that was my thing with Trump all the time is "How can he make America great again if we don't have the work ethic to make it great?"
My answer: We need a one party theocracy capable of making the white working classes work again!
I also refer the video in which Dr Pohl and I discuss the alt-right.
1:26:00 Dr Pohl: "If [the alt-right] really think about it really hard, they would realise it's not really about race or IQ, but they're unable to articulate it."
I refer to Tucker's video on why Democrats feel they need to keep importing illegals to bribe to vote for them and what to do about it: impose a one-party state and narrow the franchise to taxpayers only and of course make the white working classes work again.
It saddens me that Yoram Hazony who wrote The Virtue of Nationalism (which I have been promoting enthusiastically since I heard of it) blocked me as soon as I followed him on Twitter.
A modern reason for Post-Christian Antisemitism https://t.co/kOcQcj2r6N
I do hope he does not think I am an antisemite, though I have made the observation that the worst thing you could do to a Jew is force him to follow his religion properly. Am I an antisemite because Jews hate me?
I have also said that it if Judaism is divine ethno-nationalism, then Islam must be divine civic nationalism. It cannot be denied that Judaism is really the most effective form of ethno-nationalism because it allowed Jews to remain Jewish without a homeland for 2000 years.
I have also said that if God exists and made Jews His Chosen People, and allowed them to remain in existence and return to their homeland after 2000 years, He surely must have intended Israel to be a theocracy. The only Rabbi to have agreed with me was the late Rabbi Kahane.
I don't see why this can't be discussed by senior rabbis. The answer is obvious to me, but it seems Jews want to escape this inescapable conclusion, probably because they fear the loss of US protection because they suspect the Americans just wouldn't support a theocracy.
If God exists and wants Israel to be a theocracy, then He cannot want and expect Israel to remain a mere colonial outpost of an empire whose laws have fallen dangerously below the minimum standards of the Noahide laws, surely?
I have considered becoming an Orthodox Jewess to become a member of the tribe that is the aristocracy of humanity and am well aware of the restrictions I would have to endure to be in good standing with my Holy Community. It would be awkward for Israel to be a Torah theocracy.
God if He exists would not, I imagine, be too fussy about whether Israel is a Torah theocracy or a one party theocracy governed by the principles of Secular Koranism. Israel could first try Secular Koranism and if it works for them, the rest of the world could adopt it.
The great thing about Secular Koranism is that it is also based on the Koran, and could be said to be a form of sharia but as interpreted by me, an agnostic formerly liberal feminist non-Muslim. I like to think this would mollify the Palestinians somewhat. https://t.co/Cjb0EBeWUA

The enmity of the Palestinians would be stayed, because they would in spite of themselves be interested to see if my proposed social and religious experiment works on the Israelis. In this way Israel could be like Scheherazade and eventually gain favour. https://t.co/a8CsY1G3cz
Should my proposed pilot scheme of Secular Koranism to be conducted in Israel succeed, then it would be adopted worldwide, making the world a more peaceful place after restoring the patriarchy ie marriage and family values worldwide. What's not to like?
The other question I want senior rabbis to discuss is which religion the gentile should adopt now that Christianity is obviously kaput. Which is more in conformity with the Noahide laws? a) idolatrous Christianity b) monotheist Islam Surely the answer is only too obvious?
The great thing about Islam is that it would ban usury and this would help prevent from getting into trouble with the gentile again over the tendency of individuals (both Jew and gentile) and governments to lend and borrow irresponsibly until slavery and collapse is the result.
I was very heartened to note that the conciliatory position of @rabbisacks towards Islam discussed at https://t.co/42iquu3cR0 is in harmony with the narrative I have woven.
Yoram Hazony should know that I have met Rabbi Sacks twice and even have an autographed book by him. I am sure Lord Sacks could in some way assure him that I am not really so dangerous. Oh, and I have also met and have an autographed book by @MelanieLatest too. @davidhazony
Isaac represents Jews, Ishmael gentiles. If the gentile were properly informed and rational, he would have allowed Islam to supersede Christianity with the support of the rational Jew, for Islam is undeniably more in conformity with the Noahide laws than idolatrous Christianity.
If Jews are the light unto the nations, then Israel must be its pilot light. Therefore Israel must be a theocracy and should submit to the pilot study proposed at https://t.co/ZBnpUxXUg8

"By 1996, 70 percent of inmates in state juvenile detention centers serving long-term sentences were raised by single mothers. Seventy-two percent of juvenile murderers and 60 percent of rapists come from single-mother homes. Seventy percent of teenage births, dropouts, suicides, runaways, juvenile delinquents, and child murderers involve children raised by single mothers. Girls raised without fathers are more sexually promiscuous and more likely to end up divorced. A 1990 study by the Progressive Policy Institute showed that after controlling for single motherhood, the difference between black and white crime rates disappeared."
.@isabelhilton says Beijing is feeling rather smug about the crisis of confidence in Western Democracy and contemptuous of it. "It is being used by the Chinese Communist Party to persuade the Chinese that there is nothing to envy here."
.@bbcnickrobinson: "The Chinese are using the crisis in confidence of democracy to persuade people around the world that their system - to put it crudely - delivers the goods."
.@isabelhilton: "Our loss of confidence in our own institutions and our failure to attend to the phenomenon of elected leaders who then attack the rights of their electorate eg extending term limits, transfer of wealth to elites has not served democracy at all."
.@bbcnickrobinson: "Professor Runciman, do you argue that we have something to learn from the Chinese and should perhaps stop the era of saying 'Democracy is the end not merely the means to the end'?"
"We spend so much time thinking of Putin and Russia, yet the real rival to Western democracy is the Chinese system. Very few people advocate it as an alternative, but it's possible the Chinese are leading the way and we are so preoccupied we are missing the long term challenges."
.@bbcnickrobinson: "Are the Chinese leading the way because they are able to be technocratic and managerial, long-term? Are you suggesting that democracy stops you from taking the decisions you need to take?"
Runciman: "People come back from China starry-eyed saying 'Wow, these people can think about the future, but we are just thinking about the next election.' There are huge risks, but the Chinese system does have a kind of technical capacity we probably haven't recognised yet."
Runciman: "The Chinese system is basically run by engineers, not by ideologues. It's more pragmatic than the rivals democracy faces in the 20th century. I don't think we should copy it, but we shouldn't be oblivious to the fact that democracy faces a rival."
.@isabelhilton: "I think that might have been true 5 years ago but we are now seeing a return of ideology and authoritarianism in China. It looks much less pragmatic now than it did 5 years ago and it is not really clear that this is going to be sustainable."
.@bbcnickrobinson: "Is it possible that while we see the positive exports, the success, people at home see the repression, the failure to deal with pollution, the failure to listen to ordinary people's concerns and so on?"
.@bbcnickrobinson: "Is it possible that while we see the positive exports, the success, people at home see the repression, the failure to deal with pollution, the failure to listen to ordinary people's concerns and so on?"
.@isabelhilton: "It is true that delivering material benefits has taken the regime a very long way. As the economy slows, it is no coincidence that we see a tightening in security and more repression as the economic prospects are not quite as exuberant as they used to be."
.@bbcnickrobinson: "I noiticed that you pulled a slight grimace as Professor Runciman said we should learn from the Chinese. Are you worried about that?"
China and Iran have a one party state and they have an independent foreign policy. Trump as President of America cannot change US foreign policy because he has now become a puppet of the Deep State.
Islam - the latest version of the Abrahamic faiths - would end sexual liberation and therefore the tyranny of our degenerate matriarchy. The Koran explicitly shames sluts with quran.com/24/2 and raises the cost of sex.
Degenerates would not wish to sacrifice their sexual liberation for the good of their society or the survival of their nation and civilisation.
The Deep State is for the status quo of the matriarchy knowing that the distractions of sex and shopping keeps most of its citizens stupid and happy to exist as a fungible units of consumption in their Idiocracy.
Nobody is really in charge of America because the political classes in reality have very little power and are at the beck and call of the lobbyists.
Can you imagine a dictator being told what to do by the arms manufacturers? He would soon tell them where to go.
It has always been a fallacy that democracies are always more peaceful than dictatorships. Athens was not exactly peaceable, nor did its democracy last very long. Whatever the nature of the government, it will find itself wanting to assert itself, show off and posture when it feels itself to be weak and losing power. Failing empires who call themselves democracies are just a likely to do this as any petty tyrant in a tinpot dictatorship. Think of short men who take on larger than life personalities to over-compensate for their lack of height.
In any group 51% of its members are stupider than the other 49%. In a democracy, we submit to this majority of the stupid.
Indeed, a democracy only works if all voters are wise, and we already know that most voters are venal, morally corrupt, ignorant, intellectually lazy and easily led.
A wise ruler with wise advisers would best be able to keep the lobbyists and other enemies of society at bay, but not members of a political class riven with factionalism trying to do outdo each other while worrying about their status and the income that needs to go with it.
Can you imagine, for example, a Caliph being at the beck and call of his arms manufacturers? Granted, Hitler and Mussolini were hardly peaceable in their urgency to build their empires, but then again Franco had no interest in foreign adventures nor did Salazar. The Chinese one-party system would be best for the Americans. It will be interesting to see the debates they will have when they decide to change their constitution and abolish their oligarchy.
Dictator Trump would be a hopeful start, since the Americans already clearly adore him.
A national government is really a polite term for a one-party state, and a proper de jure one-party state would allow party members to work together better.
If we are to have a one-party state then the party's administrative decisions should be subject to judicial review as a public body. The Indian courts have already affirmed this principle.
"A quarter of a century later, for the third time our leadership was intellectually, psychologically, and institutionally unprepared to deal with the question of deterring Germany and we tottered into another world war for which we were unprepared."
"Our economy stuttered, the empire shrank. We failed to formulate a new national policy – an answer to Acheson’s famous jibe that we had lost an empire but failed to find a new role. In area after area, we either consciously abandoned trying to be a serious player (e.g. satellites and space) or cocked it up and frittered away big advantages (e.g. aerospace, computing)."
"After our next disaster – Suez – the Conservative Party made another grand historical error – it begged to join the European Community, seeking in membership a way to avoid thinking about hard problems. After botching the attempts to join, we gave France whatever it wanted as an entry fee then spent the next thirty years handing over more and more power because those in charge could not think of anything else to do. Thatcher too failed here and when she woke up she was chopped."
"Whatever one’s view of the right response to 9/11 and international terrorism, it is obvious that our leaders and institutions coped badly yet again and have not learned the lessons of recent failures. Our approach to the EU now – whining, rude, dishonest, unpleasant, childishly belligerent in public while pathetically craven in private, and overall hollow ... "
"The consequences of our inability to develop political institutions able to think wisely about the biggest problems in order to pre-empt some crises – ‘to win without fighting’ as Sun Tzu put it – are ever greater because scientific progress also brings ever greater destructive possibilities. Does anybody think our current system is thinking wisely about possible equivalents to the rise of Germany post-1870, such as autonomous robotics, synthetic biology, the rise of China, or the collision of Islam with modernity?"
Why not have a one party state if doing so would give us better government? It is precisely this that enables the Chinese to think in centuries and plan for the long term national interest. Unlike the West, they are not paralysed by the political imperative of winning the next election through pandering to the vices of their voters.
The Party exist to build and safeguard a fair, free and open society, in which we seek to balance the fundamental values of liberty, equality and community, and in which no one shall be enslaved by poverty, ignorance or conformity. We champion the freedom, dignity and well-being of individuals, we acknowledge and respect their right to freedom of conscience and their right to develop their talents to the full. We aim to disperse power, to foster diversity and to nurture creativity. We believe that the role of the state is to enable all citizens to attain these ideals, to contribute fully to their communities and to take part in the decisions which affect their lives.
We look forward to a world in which all people share the same basic rights, in which they live together in peace and in which their different cultures will be able to develop freely. We believe that each generation is responsible for the fate of our planet and, by safeguarding the balance of nature and the environment, for the long term continuity of life in all its forms. Upholding these values of individual and social justice, we reject all prejudice and discrimination based upon race, colour, religion, age, disability, sex or sexual orientation and oppose all forms of entrenched privilege and inequality. Recognising that the quest for freedom and justice can never end, we promote human rights and open government, a sustainable economy which serves genuine need, public services of the highest quality, international action based on a recognition of the interdependence of all the world’s peoples and responsible stewardship of the earth and its resources. We believe that people should be involved in running their communities. We are determined to strengthen the democratic process and ensure that there is a just and representative system of government with effective Parliamentary institutions, freedom of information, decisions taken at the lowest practicable level and a fair voting system for all elections. We will at all times defend the right to speak, write, worship, associate and vote freely, and we will protect the right of citizens to enjoy privacy in their own lives and homes. We believe that sovereignty rests with the people and that authority in a democracy derives from the people. We therefore acknowledge their right to determine the form of government best suited to their needs and commit ourselves to the promotion of a democratic federal framework within which as much power as feasible is exercised by the nations and regions of the United Kingdom. We similarly commit ourselves to the promotion of a flourishing system of democratic local government in which decisions are taken and services delivered at the most local level which is viable.
We will foster a strong and sustainable economy which encourages the necessary wealth creating processes, develops and uses the skills of the people and works to the benefit of all, with a just distribution of the rewards of success. We want to see democracy, participation and the co-operative principle in industry and commerce within a competitive environment in which the state allows the market to operate freely where possible but intervenes where necessary. We will promote scientific research and innovation and will harness technological change to human advantage.
We will work for a sense of partnership and community in all areas of life. We recognise that the independence of individuals is safeguarded by their personal ownership of property, but that the market alone does not distribute wealth or income fairly. We support the widest possible distribution of wealth and promote the rights of all citizens to social provision and cultural activity. We seek to make public services responsive to the people they serve, to encourage variety and innovation within them and to make them available on equal terms to all.
Our responsibility for justice and liberty cannot be confined by national boundaries; we are committed to fight poverty, oppression, hunger, ignorance, disease and aggression wherever they occur and to promote the free movement of ideas, people, goods and services. Setting aside national sovereignty when necessary, we will work with other countries towards an equitable and peaceful international order and a durable system of common security. Within the European Community we affirm the values of federalism and integration and work for unity based on these principles. We will contribute to the process of peace and disarmament, the elimination of world poverty and the collective safeguarding of democracy by playing a full and constructive role in international organisations which share similar aims and objectives. These are the conditions of liberty and social justice which it is the responsibility of each citizen and the duty of the state to protect and enlarge. The Party consists of women and men working together for the achievement of these aims.
1. The Party is a democratic socialist party. It believes that by the strength of our common endeavour we achieve more than we achieve alone, so as to create for each of us the means to realise our true potential and for all of us a community in which power, wealth and opportunity are in the hands of the many not the few; where the rights we enjoy reflect the duties we owe and where we live together freely, in a spirit of solidarity, tolerance and respect.
2. To these ends we work for:
A. A DYNAMIC ECONOMY, serving the public interest, in which the enterprise of the market and the rigour of competition are joined with the forces of partnership and co-operation to produce the wealth the nation needs and the opportunity for all to work and prosper with a thriving private sector and high-quality public services where those undertakings essential to the common good are either owned by the public or accountable to them
B. A JUST SOCIETY, which judges its strength by the condition of the weak as much as the strong, provides security against fear, and justice at work; which nurtures families, promotes equality of opportunity, and delivers people from the tyranny of poverty, prejudice and the abuse of power
C. AN OPEN DEMOCRACY, in which government is held to account by the people, decisions are taken as far as practicable by the communities they affect and where fundamental human rights are guaranteed
D. A HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT, which we protect, enhance and hold in trust for future generations.
3. The Party is committed to the defence and security of the British people and to co-operating in European institutions, the United Nations, the Commonwealth and other international bodies to secure peace, freedom, democracy, economic security and environmental protection for all.
4. The Party shall work in pursuit of these aims with trade unions and co-operative societies and also with voluntary organisations, consumer groups and other representative bodies.
5. On the basis of these principles, the Party seeks the trust of the people to govern.
They merge together quite seamlessly, do they not, but they are just an amalgam of the LibDem and Labour Party constitutions.
Since it is all meaningless waffle, the LibLabCon might as well all just agree that their principle is to promote the long term national interest, making it short and sweet.
